  • Meaningful Messages

Her interview style—open, thoughtful, and engaging with various experts in the field of therapy—is genuinely interesting to listen to. I’m not just saying this as a friend, but as someone who deeply values intellectual conversation and the ability to connect with listeners in a relatable and meaningful way.

  • Feels like talking with a friend

Hannah is so down to earth and just real—listening to her feels like talking to a friend who actually gets what you’re going through. She’s super validating and relatable, and somehow always says exactly what I need to hear. If you’ve ever felt like therapy talk is too clinical or out of touch, this podcast is the opposite. Just honest, comforting, and really helpful.

Emotional Eating Explained by a Dietitian & Therapist: How to Break the Cycle
Q: What is the role of relapse in the change process and how should one frame setbacks while on a recovery path?
Relapse is a normal, non-fatal part of the change journey; it doesn't erase progress. The focus should be on how you respond after a setback and continue with small, consistent steps rather than seeking a perfect, immediate transformation.
EMDR Therapy Explained: Healing Trauma, PTSD & Attachment Wounds
Q: Can EMDR be used if someone doesn't remember their childhood or explicit memories?
Yes. EMDR can target implicit or nonverbal memories stored in the nervous system, including early life sensations and pre-verbal experiences; there are protocols like the Early Trauma Protocol that focus on time periods or gestational stages rather than explicit memories, allowing processing without a clear narrative memory.
EMDR Therapy Explained: Healing Trauma, PTSD & Attachment Wounds
Q: Can you give me an example, or the example you like to use with clients?
A classic example is attachment trauma: when a baby cries for needs like hunger or diaper change and the caregiver doesn't respond consistently, the cue for distress remains unresolved and later shows up as hypervigilance and seeking reassurance in adulthood; EMDR helps reprocess that unmet need so the person can trust relationships again.
The Truth About Diet Culture & Emotional Eating With A Dietician
Q: What role does narrative change play in overcoming disordered eating patterns?
Changing the internal and external narratives—from restriction and punishment to curiosity and self-compassion—has helped both speakers reduce binge behaviors and improve eating habits.
The Truth About Diet Culture & Emotional Eating With A Dietician
Q: Can you share why this topic matters and what intrigues you the most about the relationship with food?
Rachel explains that food is intrinsic to life and that a healthy relationship with it improves quality of life and mental health, especially when goals around weight or health are pursued without sacrificing nourishment or joy.
