  • Life changer

I have been sober for 2 years and this podcast started it all. It is so, so funny and relatable , it makes you realise that getting sober doesn’t mean you have to wake up at 5am, run a marathon , and then drink a kale smoothie . You can still have a laugh , still indulge in chocolate and binge watching Bridgerton , and Vic will do it right along with you . Cannot recommend this podcast highly enough, it has truly changed, and probably saved, my life.

  • Sober, so good

If you’re searching for, and listening to, a podcast like this, you’re obviously already self-aware enough of the problems with drinking. It’s also likely that you’re still at the vulnerable stage of falling into the same traps every week. This podcast is so sincere, relatable and as a result convincing enough to tip you over the edge into throwing yourself into abstinence, at least for a notable period of time. It’s a hard sell for what you gain rather than what you lose by choosing sobriety. I... more

  • Two funny sober people who make me laugh and heal!

I found this podcast when I was 19 days into sobriety. And what a gift. Finally people that were open, honest and relatable in their drinking past lives and how they honestly deal with sobriety. They make me laugh so much and I’m so glad the podcast has been put out into the universe.

One of my fave podcasts of all time. It is a multi-layered oniony gift of a thing. The conversations are honest, vulnerable, filled with wisdom, and absolutely hilarious. Recommend starting from ep 1 and following the… journey 😅

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sober Sex: How to Get Wet When You’re Dry - with Anna Wolfe
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is newly sober and dating?
Fuck the fear and reframe dating as a fun exploration, remember the other person is also insecure, show up as yourself, and avoid pretending to be something you're not.
Sober Sex: How to Get Wet When You’re Dry - with Anna Wolfe
Q: Why do drinkers feel more confident sexually, and what changes when sober?
Drinking often doubles as a social lubricant and confidence booster, but sobriety reveals genuine self-assurance that comes from knowing and expressing one's needs, boundaries, and values in a present, conscious way.
Let’s Talk Nervous Systems – with Sarah Rusbatch
Q: How do we recognize that our system is dysregulated?
Signs include trouble sleeping, panic, neck/shoulder tension, cold sensitivity, shallow breathing, catastrophizing, plus a pattern of relying on alcohol to cope.
Let’s Talk Nervous Systems – with Sarah Rusbatch
Q: Can you tell me what the nervous system actually is?
The nervous system is autonomic and constantly assesses threat, deciding when we feel safe or unsafe; it operates largely beyond conscious control.
ADHD and Alcohol: What’s Really Going On?
Q: How does ADHD change the experience of alcohol and its sobriety?
ADHD affects dopamine regulation, reward processing, and emotional regulation, making alcohol particularly appealing as a way to dampen internal noise and manage social pressures; sobriety requires tailored strategies that address these neurobiological realities instead of relying on traditional, neurotypical advice.
