  • Captivating

I came across an episode of Park Avenue Surgery Class while researching anti-aging treatments, and I was immediately hooked. I was excited to see that Dr. Bass has multiple episodes covering the methods he uses with patients to postpone aging signs for as long as possible. Even if you don’t plan on getting any of the treatments Dr. Bass talks about in depth, the episodes that touch on the history of medical aesthetics and what’s to come are captivating.

  • Enlightening for those considering surgery

Beyond the fact that he clearly knows what he’s talking about, I can tell that Dr. Bass has a passion for medical aesthetics. His excitement to share new information with listeners makes it seem less like a “class” and more like an interesting conversation with a *very smart* friend. I am in my early 20s and have been insecure of the bump on my nose for as long as I can remember. Dr. Bass’s episode with Dr. Jason Bloom about the rhinoplasty helped me feel more comfortable and educated about a pr... more

  • Endearing and educational

Dr. Bass is highly knowledgeable, and it’s refreshing to hear how he thinks about surgery vs. just explanations of it. It is clear he has a heart for education and cares deeply about helping both his own patients and anyone considering surgery.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Beauty Series #10: Beauty Essentials w/ Dr. Jennifer Vickers
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about why sunscreen is so important?
Sunscreen protects against skin cancer and helps prevent aging by reducing cumulative sun damage; daily use, even when not 'in the sun,' is essential because small exposures add up over time.
Facts & Fallacies #2: Injectable Fillers
Q: What are the limits or risks associated with repeating filler treatments too often?
Overly frequent injections can traumatize tissues, increase redness and swelling, and lead to instability in results; appropriate spacing (often six months to a year or more) helps maintain tissue health and treatment effectiveness.
Facts & Fallacies #2: Injectable Fillers
Q: How did we get to this topic and why is there so much misinformation about fillers?
The topic arose from extensive readings and online media where sensational headlines and vested interests tend to misrepresent fillers; the hosts emphasize focusing on real risks and benefits to guide individual decisions.
Customization, Not Commoditization
Q: Okay, Dr. Bass, what are you getting at here?
Dr. Bass explains that while safety standards are becoming more uniform, true beauty outcomes depend on customizing treatments to each patient's unique goals and features, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Beauty Series #6: Beauty Lens
Q: What about friends and family? Should people listen to or ignore what they are telling them about their appearance?
It's advisable to consider their opinions but not allow them to control your decisions, as they may not understand your personal beauty concerns.
