  • Thank you the critical information

Started listening about 9 months ago ahead of a tummy tuck and brachioplasty that I’m now 2 weeks post-op from. In 6 weeks I’ll be getting a deep plane lower face and neck lift, all after an 80 lb weight loss over the past 8 years. This podcast has been invaluable in educating me on the specifics of these procedures and making informed decisions on choosing a plastic surgeon, pre- and post-op prep, scar management, etc. Keep up the great work!

Honestly, these Doctors think they're a comedy act but what their joking over are people's (even their patients) bodies and health. The snark, sarcasm, quips - maybe it's an ego thing but makes for an unlistenable experience. Hard pass!

  • My Go To Podcast

I can’t tell you how fast the time goes when listening to these episodes! The two doctors are incredibly intelligent, hilarious, honest, and explain plastic surgery in a way that is easy to understand. For me personally, they helped to clear common misconceptions in the world of plastic surgery. Good podcast for commutes or on a walk!

Answering YOUR Questions
Q: What is the safety outlook for mommy makeovers and why should patients consider the risk even if rare?
Dr. Calvert emphasizes that while death is a possible risk in any surgery, it is extremely rare, and patients should be counseled on this risk but not deterred if properly prepared and monitored.
Answering YOUR Questions
Q: What are the considerations for drains versus a drainless facelift, and when might a net be used to avoid drains?
The use of drains depends on the surgical approach; endoscopic or minimal incisions may be drainless with a hemostatic net, while deep plane facelifts may require drains to manage hematoma risk.
Answering YOUR Questions
Q: Can fat grafting be done without a facelift, and is it feasible to perform in the office under local anesthesia?
Yes, fat grafting can be done without a facelift and is often performed under local anesthesia in the office, providing volumization and potential skin benefits.
Answering YOUR Questions
Q: Should a buckle fat pad be entirely removed during a facelift if the patient is 50 years old and wants a chiseled look?
Dr. Calvert explains that buckle fat pads should be assessed during facelift, and depending on the patient's cheeks and goals, only a portion of the pad may be removed to achieve a heart-shaped, more sculpted look rather than removing the entire pad.
Face & Breast Follow-up
Q: How has the outcome affected your life, professionally and personally?
The improvements boosted confidence, helped with self-ownership, and contributed to positive changes in career and life, reinforcing that a rejuvenated appearance can align with a more energized life.
