But their lives came to intersect through one tragic day when Mary Pinchot Meyer was mysteriously murdered on her daily walk in broad daylight in 1964. A black man stood accused, and a barrier-breaking civil rights lawyer, Dovey Roundtree, rose to his defe... more

Good listen. I enjoyed the backstories of the main characters. The multiple ads lasting up to 4 minutes were frustrating.
Loved almost every aspect of the podcast with the exception of the multitude of ads and their transitions. Learning about the lives of the two women who’d never met, but would forever be interconnected was interesting and enlightening.
I do think the podcast was too quick to dismiss the theory that the CIA was involved in her death. Given the people she was connected to and how more than one of them was recently proven to be involved in the death of her lover when many formerly classified docu... more
Meh, mildly historically relevant. But ACTUALLY it ends up revealing nothing, coming to no conclusions, instead focusing on the lawyer who got the accused murderer acquitted. And there is a LOT about the supposedly great art of the victim. And the final episode, well… talk about inflating a story with hot air. Waste of time…
Obnoxious talk about god and Christianity, as though everyone is a Christian.
This was such a great listen I really enjoyed it on my DC commute. It’s been so fascinating to get to know this side of history. Thank you for doing so much research about Dovey Johnson Roundtree. The amount of effort and research put into these episodes is very impressive.
