  • Revictimizing the victims?

Just listened to the episode of The Dream podcast that does a deep dive into how Dirty John was actually made. It certainly appears that the LA Times and Goddard misrepresented and took advantage of their subjects here. Now I feel a little dirty for being complicit by listening in on a story that in retrospect clearly did not center the victim’s experience.

  • Die hard fan

When Christopher launched COTT I was on it like a shot, and I’m not disappointed. Each episode is a delicate, well-researched, nuanced exploration of a captivating and compelling story. Goffard delivers in his classically listenable tone and the introduction of sources enhances the story and adds such depth. Can’t get enough.

  • Concerning

This reporter does back-to-back hatchet jobs on therapists and, by implication, survivors of CSA and CSE (11 and 18/02/25). Seriously unbalanced and outdated treatment of the issues. Seriously disappointing.

  • Terrible Editing

The storyline is amazing. The narrator and interviewer did a great job. However, the editing and where the ads were placed was horrible. All the ads happened mid sentences. There’s no break to know when an ad is about to come on, it just abruptly cuts off and goes to ad. It’s hard to believe that it’s a Wondery podcast with the poor editing.
