The narrator was terrible and the way he covers true crime is also terrible. I actively avoid anything he does but decided to give this a try as I’ve really enjoyed everything the Binge has put out. It is very disappointing that the Binge partnered with this self promoting man who makes himself a part of the story. Please never work with him again.
This is only about this season, others are fine. This narrator is absolutely awful and the sound mixing is a nightmare. I’ve listened to many podcasts and his voice is so irritating and weirdly inflected that I’m about to give up.
I am bummed the Binge went with this gas bag as a host. Everything about him is cringe and mid. His self-promotion is gross. I won’t renew for any months that he’s the host. He gets in the way of the narrative.
I have enjoyed all the other seasons but this narrator was awful to listen to.
I’m a subscriber so I usually do *binge* these but I really don’t think I can finish Final Fantasy about Dr. Schwartz. The narrator’s voice is horrible and there’s so many thinly veiled braggadocios comments about his career sprinkled in. He speaks disrespectfully about everyone who is not a professional. I’m two and a half episodes in and can’t give this any more of my time. Hope next month’s release is better.

A gripping true-crime slate that centers investigative storytelling around high-profile murders and the subcultures surrounding them. Episodes frequently blend meticulous forensic detail, motive speculation, and interviews with detectives, medical experts, and individuals connected to the cases, including figures who lived through or were implicated in dramatic crimes. The host's narrative approach leans into narrative-driven journalism, with recurring themes of justice, identity, and the ethics of storytelling in crime. A distinctive angle is the exploration of subcultures, occult symbolism, and the messy interplay between fame, ambition, and culpability, often following long-burning cases and long-form interviews that unpack complex legal... more
