  • Used to love the show

I used to listen to this show every night. Now, I can't stand it.

The woman that sounds like Meghan Kelly is doing my head in.

You can't go from Keith Morrison to this...

    What are these episodes?

    Where is Dateline?

This show is unrecognisable and impossible to listen to. Get rid of Andrea Canning her flinty voice is also impossible to listen to.

  • Drop the music

I recently signed up for Premium because I like the show and most importantly it does not have the background music that I find so annoying in too many podcast. But today’s episode unfortunately did have music for the first part, so much so that you can hardly hear what’s happened. Why??? Why do you need to be just like all the others when it was working so well??? I didn’t even listen to the rest, so disappointed. I will see how it goes for the next week or so but if they continue with those s... more

  • Stop Clogging the feed!

The entire Dateline feed is completely cluttered with half a dozen or more spinoff pods and other nonsense. Trying to navigate through it is a hot mess and not even worth the hassle anymore.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Talking Dateline: Breaking Point
Q: Marsha says, why did the police not match the tire tracks on her lawn to the tires on Jason's car? Wouldn't that have moved it from circumstantial evidence to factual?
The answer is yes if the tracks could have been matched to Jason's car and excluded all others; however, the tire tracks were consistent but not exclusive proof, and the case remained circumstantial.
Talking Dateline: A Window of Time
Q: Hi Blayne, I was curious when you were interviewing the protesters outside the courthouse, did you happen to ask any of them since they thought the accused was innocent, could they explain how his DNA got inside of the victim?
Some protesters suggested a possible relationship or alternative explanations, but the episode notes that none of the evidence supported these claims, and the defense discussions did not change the core DNA findings.
Talking Dateline: Book of Lies
Q: Did the crew actually eat at Gabe's Diner during filming?
Yes, they ate there twice; Andrea and Blayne recall the tuna melt and even a blonde brownie, making Gabe's Diner a memorable on-location setting.
Talking Dateline: The Gorge
Q: I could see that. I wonder if you can just tell us more about your interviews with Alice's sisters, like behind the scenes, what was it like sitting across from them?
Andrea explains the emotional intensity of interviewing Josephine, who kept a photo of Alice nearby, and describes long, multi-hour conversations that revealed the family's heartbreak, determination, and the personal toll of the search.
Talking Dateline: The Gorge
Q: There was another piece of the investigation that you couldn't get into the episode about a flat tire with the rental car. Can you share what was learned from that part of the case?
Blayne and Andrea discuss how Harald claimed a flat tire and a tow, and how investigators subpoenaed the tow driver to pinpoint the breakdown location and assess how much mud and off-road activity occurred, which fed into the broader theory of how events unfolded.
