I couldn’t even get through the first episode, the preshow banter, and the constant chitchat about everything but the case is a real turn off. I was looking for a new show, but all these new podcasts seem to be all about the presenters and not about the cases. A real miss for me.
Half of the podcast is their unoriginal opinion. I have it another shot after years of a break and it’s still the same. You should be able to lead with the facts and leave the constant editorializing behind.
I got about 45 minutes into my first episode and realized I’d had enough. When I finally turned it off and just sat in silence I felt relief. There’s way too much added commentary from these two - almost like it’s a competition to see which of the two can get the last word. And the swearing is pointless and adds nothing to this. I get it, people swear, but when every third word is a swear word it just feels like you’re listening in on two unintelligent teenagers talk about their lives. Get to th... more
Hands down my favorite pod cast. It has gotten me through the tough days of motherhood and postpartum. Personally , I love the commentary. Like they put in the show notes it is LIGHT HEARTED. You’re already listening to some of the most heinous crimes against humanity and I fear people are getting so lost in that. The people focused on just “the facts” are insane to me. They put it into perspective that these are actual people that these things actually happened to not just another crime case. G... more
1) spooky stories and listener tales are terrible 2) old timey yada yada are snooze worthy 3) excessive intros and chinwags 4) keep politics out of it and tell the story 5) how many unnecessary f bombs can you drop. 6) lovely male bashing and criticizing men’s heights/gym choices 7) it seems like always sick or voices are lost 8) more reality tv updates than true crime 9) how many ideas are you going to get from ghost adventures? 10) a lot of opinions followed by “we don’t know” your opinions su... more

A buoyant, in-depth true crime and dark-history show that blends careful case analysis with playful banter and personal anecdotes. Episodes cover high-profile crimes, historical punishments, missing persons, and cult-favorite mysteries, often weaving in contemporary updates, listener stories, and cultural critiques. A standout is the balance between vivid, respectful storytelling and irreverent humor, making heavy topics approachable for listeners who enjoy personality-driven hosts and a touch of whimsy alongside the facts. The format frequently includes banter, audience anecdotes, and sponsor plugs, creating a warm, episodic ride that can feel like chatting with two knowledgeable friends who aren't afraid to push boundaries while keeping t... more
