  • One Veteran to another—AMAZING

Montel, thank you so much for informing and educating our community about cannabis and it’s many benefits. As a Veteran myself I’m honored to call you a brother in arms not only from a military standpoint but from an advocacy standpoint for cannabis. Someday, maybe you and I can lead the charge together to force the VA to allow recommendations from VA physicians to our Veterans and require that cannabis medicine be grown and produced by Veterans and not BIG PHARMA. All my best, and maybe we coul... more

  • Educator and Advocate

The guests and information on Montel's show are pioneers and educators in the cannabis space. There is emerging research on how cannabis is indeed medicine but it is muddled by laws and red tape. Montel and the guests he has are on a mission to cut through the buracracy and misinformation out there. I continue to learn more and more about this plant medicine daily. Excellent structured discussions.

Is Cannabis Being Misunderstood with KKyle Boyar
Q: What is CHS? Can you explain it in plain language?
CHS is a condition characterized by cyclic vomiting in some heavy, long-term cannabis users, linked to high-THC products. It's not universal, and factors like long-term use, dose, and possibly individual biology play roles. Acute episodes can be relieved by hot showers or capsaicin, but stopping cannabis often remains the most reliable treatment until more is understood.
Finding a New Mission: Ryan "Chief" Johnson on Veteran Healing, Purpose & Cannabis
Q: What is DD420 and how did it come about?
DD420 grew out of interviews and the need to connect veterans in isolation to cannabis education and safe experiences, culminating in a Virginia SpringFest with resources, strains, and community support.
Finding a New Mission: Ryan "Chief" Johnson on Veteran Healing, Purpose & Cannabis
Q: What sparked your shift toward cannabis as a healing pathway?
Near retirement, his life spiraled with alcohol and meds, but cannabis helped slow his mind, reduce reliance on benzodiazepines, and opened him up to a broader journey of healing and self-improvement.
Finding a New Mission: Ryan "Chief" Johnson on Veteran Healing, Purpose & Cannabis
Q: What was the hardest transition after leaving the military?
Beyond adjusting to civilian life, the hardest part was stopping the reflex to bark orders and re-learning how to interact respectfully with civilians, which taught him to be more aware and considerate in leadership.
The Whole F’n Truth: Rob Van Dam on Pain, Recovery & Reinvention
Q: If you could share one piece of wellness wisdom from your career, what would it be?
The importance of stretching as a foundational habit to maintain mobility and reduce injury risk, a practice he emphasizes as essential for longevity in demanding sports.
