I love these two! Intelligent conversation, and they hold back almost not at all.

I was working on a painting and my brain went right to thinking I was listening to them on MSNow, until Symone dropped an F bomb😂 I gasped and then realized it was ClockIt, so i did.

  • Symone is right!

Symone is totally correct in her assessment of how bias the media is when it comes to holding political officials accountable. Jake Tapper wrote a whole book on Joe Biden’s health, and Biden didn’t do half of what Trump’s doing. Yet crickets from Tapper and everybody else when it comes to Trump constantly falling asleep, getting lost not to mention his incoherent ramblings and rants. He is declining right before our very eyes and no one seems to care. Democrats are held to a higher standard by t... more

  • The best out there

I look forward to Symone and Eugene every single week because I know that they are going to give me the type of smart, witty, informed space commentary that is severely lacking in today’s cultural and political discourse. I have shared this podcast with everyone I know.

  • Awesome podcast! A must listen!

This is one of the very best podcasts addressing politics, current events, race/racism and culture. Symone and Eugene are two of the most insightful and thoughtful people out there giving context and background to events and trying to help us make sense of the madness we are living through. I look forward to Thursdays when their new episode drops. Thanks to you both!! And Symone…don’t read those other comments that get you upset - they’re just wrong!!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Trump gets Booed…Loudly, and Graham Platner Tries to Redeem Himself
Q: What do Maine voters think about Graham Platner and the broader race against Susan Collins?
Voters appear engaged and willing to overlook certain accusations if the candidate can win and advance policy goals, though concerns remain about his past conduct.
Corruption, Cancel Culture, and the Death of the Comedy Roast
Q: Why does the industry allow controversial material to linger after public backlash?
The discussion points to a combination of audience appetite, algorithmic monoculture, and financial incentives; backlash does not always derail a career, especially when controversy drives engagement and a platform-wide ecosystem promotes sensational coverage.
Corruption, Cancel Culture, and the Death of the Comedy Roast
Q: Comedy should be political, right? Is there a line where humor stops serving social critique?
Bell believes comedy has a long history of social critique, but he cautions that the line is nuanced—humor can illuminate injustice while also potentially normalizing harm; the best approach is thoughtful accountability and context.
Does Nikole Hannah-Jones Have Hope?
Q: Nikole, how do you think that helps to tell the story of where this administration is going moving forward when it comes to the culture and politics?
The trajectory depends on whether the rhetoric translates into policy and a broader cultural understanding of inclusion, with attention to how historical narratives shape current political choices and public perception.
Don’t Calm Down, with Maxwell Alejandro Frost
Q: What do you think about kind of Chuck Schumer? Can Chuck Schumer lead this fight to get health care affordability?
Frost acknowledges disappointment with the Senate's actions and indicates a need for new leadership as candidates are already campaigning on healthcare issues.
