Lawrence O’Donnell is straight and serious and gives me hope. I just got a much-needed mood lift from his visit with Amanda Gorman and I’m very grateful.
I’m bummed about the brandy-new pay wall. I will miss Mr. O’Donnell’s insight and humour. It was a bright spot for me in a bleak time, but for now it’s not in my budget. Carry on, Sir! you’re the real turtle soup, not simply the mock.
Lawrence is consistently the most thoughtful and humane journalist on this network. Now it appears his content is only available to paid subscribers. I support multiple small and independent creators on Patreon and Substack, but can’t justify doing so for a corporate media giant that also runs ads. I will deeply miss The Last Word. Maybe it’s still running on the trashiest of trash sites polluted by AI ads ( YouTube).

We all watched the collapse of the Berlin Wall that night. The person from the Russian Embassy became visibly distressed. I’ll never forget that night.
