  • So helpful

This has made the mad candidate trawl to sort out who is and isn’t ticking the boxes so much easier. Quickest and easiest way to get a feel for the new candidates in particular. Listen on 1.5 speed and you can fly through. I know it’s been a mammoth task for the production team but it is definitely worth it.

  • Best election resource

As far as job selection processes go when applied to Deputies, effectively the manifesto is the CV, and this podcast is the interview we all needed - really brings to life the soft skills, ideas and personalities of a candidate. I had No’s that became a yes, and some yes that became a no off the back of these!

Deputy Adrian Gabriel on motor taxes, wind farms, and weeds
Q: How will the motor tax be implemented?
Implementation is planned to be digital-first, with some human desk options, a phased roll-out, and a focus on capturing live vehicle circulation data while avoiding intrusive mileage tracking.
Deputy Adrian Gabriel on motor taxes, wind farms, and weeds
Q: Why bring back motor tax?
The guest explains that motor tax is designed to replace a diminishing fuel-duty-based revenue as EV adoption grows, providing a more sustainable and trackable measure of vehicle usage and circulation.
Ross Le Brun wins the by-election
Q: How does Ross Le Brun view his win after so many attempts?
He sees it as a vindication of persistence and belief in public service, and he plans to use the three-year term to push for housing initiatives, reconsider GST approaches, and improve representation for working-class residents.
By-election interview: Sam Haskins
Q: What would you do immediately if elected to affect public finances and spending?
Focus on three areas—savings, accountability, and reducing the cost of living—using committee work, amendments, and targeted questions to drive concrete changes from day one.
