Good interviews but with the same old characters and no real leadership insights
Great interview with George Osborne - a magnificently articulate, eloquent and inspirational individual. Good to balance the militant, uncultivated left interviewees( sanders, Clinton etc.) with a conservative as, astonishingly, not all listeners are left-wing.
George Osborne’s policies of trickle down economics during the crash made already wealthy people even wealthier on the back of austerity for the rest of society. Even the people who were given the money told him it wouldn’t work. Between bailouts & austerity the period between 2008 & 2018 is called the decade the rich got richer. His austerity from 2010 to 2016 still has massive impact now. He’s still drinking the coolade.
Very good discussion. And agree the reason Johnson won election etc was the absolute gift of Jeremy Corbin as the alternative choice
Interesting how Rory gets stuck on civilian deaths - British civilians; without any sense of perspective (BallyMurphy; Bloody Sunday; only two of the more infamous ). more
