  • Chicken soup for the IO’s soul

As an IO psych guy (and a people analytics leader at my company), I have to say that I love this podcast. It’s interesting. It’s entertaining. Most importantly, it gives me perspective about how people analytics is being practiced in other organizations. Just what I need to make me think outside the box for my own company.

  • Entertaining and Informative

I found the first episode to be both funny and informative… a mixture of crazy data study experiences from their past, useful comments about mathematical techniques and real-world vs. academic differences. I appreciate that the hosts are willing to be wrong and discuss/debate topics anyway. Looking forward to listening to additional episodes and laughing along with the hosts about what really happens in the data world.

Global Talent Disruption, Mobility & Expats, & Soft Skills Importance - Dr. Paula Caligiuri - #163
Q: What is the role of soft skills in a future dominated by AI?
Soft skills are the durable complement to technical skills, enabling people to navigate novelty, build trust quickly, and collaborate effectively across cultures and contexts, which will be essential as many routine tasks become automated.
Workforce Intelligence in Healthcare & Being a Leader for 10 Years - Dr. Gary Russo - #162
Q: How does governance play into healthcare analytics?
Governance creates shared definitions and rules (e.g., position FTE vs worked FTE) so discussions don't stall and leadership can act on reliable, consistent data.
Workforce Intelligence in Healthcare & Being a Leader for 10 Years - Dr. Gary Russo - #162
Q: What makes healthcare fundamentally different for people analytics?
Healthcare has different outcomes, cost structures, and constraints, which require prioritizing bedside quality and clear governance to align analytics with actual care delivery.
#159 - Tyler Weeks - People Analytics & HR Tech at Marriott
Q: What's the most important next thing that you're focusing on right now?
I'm focusing on how we can leverage AI effectively without just slapping it onto existing processes.
#159 - Tyler Weeks - People Analytics & HR Tech at Marriott
Q: Do you think if a CEO or a CHRO were listening right now, they would say, you know what, I wish my People Analytics team were more like an R&D function?
There's a case to be made that they would think it'd be nice, but if broken down into practical terms, it's something any company should push their People Analytics team to do.
