  • Always on the forefront of the future of work

I listen to this podcast every weekend while I am working out and it’s great. Josh’s monologues are great as he unpacks important topics that are current and explains them in simple terms, and recently there are now Chief People Officers and HR tech CEOs providing their insights on these topics as well. The length is perfect and consumable. Add it to your podcast rotation if you are into HR, learning, and leadership.

  • Too many product pitches

I find the content so blah, and there’s so many product pitches. This is one podcast you should skip. Painful to listen to, plus a lot of undercover advertisements, so overall it’s a pass.

New SHL Assessment Identifies Skills For AI-Ready Workforce
Q: Can you share a real-world example of AI readiness at a large organization?
A media and telecommunications company deployed SHL's AI readiness model across the organization. They gained data-backed confirmation of their direction, identified gaps in applying AI within workflows, and developed targeted development plans to upskill teams while establishing guardrails and decision boundaries.
New SHL Assessment Identifies Skills For AI-Ready Workforce
Q: What are the main barriers organizations face when adopting AI in talent decisions?
A major barrier is treating AI purely as a technology shift rather than a people transformation. Trust is critical; without employees trusting the tools and the process, AI-driven assessments and readiness initiatives will struggle to gain adoption.
New SHL Assessment Identifies Skills For AI-Ready Workforce
Q: Tell us about SHL's approach to measuring AI readiness and how it ties to the Superworker concept.
SHL combines behavioral science with analytics to define four overarching factors and eight underlying skills that determine AI readiness. The Superworker concept reframes AI as an enablement tool that expands, rather than replaces, human capability, emphasizing durable human skills like adaptability and critical thinking alongside AI literacy.
The Frontline Conversation: Very Different Types of Frontline Workers
Q: How does technology enable this segmentation and the associated HR strategies?
Technology allows us to configure automated workflows, pick the right automation and AI applications for each population, and integrate with tools like Galileo to tailor recruitment, training, and work design so teams can operate more efficiently and with less risk, depending on the segment.
The Frontline Conversation: Very Different Types of Frontline Workers
Q: What are the main axes or dimensions you use to classify frontline roles?
We look at customer-facing versus non-customer-facing, levels of skill from no skill to highly credentialed, safety stakes, turnover dynamics, licensing requirements, and whether the role is franchise or corporate, among others, to build a multi-dimensional segmentation framework.
