  • Thoughtful, Intelligent Reviews

Hosts give thoughtful and intelligent reviews of true crime properties. Have saved me a lot of time avoiding junk! And even more valuable have recommended lesser-known projects I’d never otherwise have found.

  • Love Mari and Sarah

Just listened to the episode about Unknown Caller. I really liked how they recapped the doc. You can tell that they both lead with empathy. Two things I wanted to point out that I noticed on the doc: 1- did you notice when the cops brought Lauryn into the house that the kitchen table was COVERED with what seemed to be booze bottles? 2- Why did Shawn seem most upset about Kendra lying about her job vs that she may have been abusing his child for over a year? Weird. 3- Kendra’s email from prison w... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Investigation of Lucy Letby | Crime Seen 187
Q: How do you feel as a parent if there's further evidence about babies that died without pursuing additional charges?
Logically, I might be inclined not to pursue further charges as it could be more devastating if she were found not guilty for my baby, considering she is already sentenced to life.
The Cult Behind The Killer: The Andrea Yates Story | Crime Seen episode 184
Q: What were your overall thoughts of the documentary?
Katie expresses that she was fascinated by the cult aspect and believes that the documentary effectively explored the fundamentalist Christian influence but also pointed out that it glossed over certain details that were crucial to Andrea's case.
Don't Date Brandon | Crime Seen episode 174
Q: Mari, what did you think?
It was presented so cliche and transparent, like they were trying to make it seem like something intended to shock without actually delivering on substance.
Don't Date Brandon | Crime Seen episode 174
Q: Mark, give us your overall thoughts on this docu-series.
It is really an accurate title. Don't date Brandon. Just don't. I found myself constantly feeling like I was looking around the corner to see the other things that they weren't diving into that to me were more compelling.
Death In Apartment #603 | Crime Seen episode 172
Q: Can you talk a little about that behavioral side of suicide and what you take into consideration when you're investigating?
The decision can be quite impulsive, and this is backed up through scientific research. Often, loved ones are left wondering what could they have done.
