There’s the official story. And then there’s the truth. The In Between is an investigative narrative podcast that digs into cases where the facts got buried, distorted, or deliberately ignored. I stopped listening to Crime Writers On years ago because I thought Rebecca was annoying and now here she is.
I’m so glad she helped Mel make podcasts and mentors her and that they are friends. I’m even happy they have a show together. I just don’t want to listen to it. I’m subscribed to The In Between but am disappointed every time it isn’t the show I want.
Mel you are good enough on your own. Or at least change the name of the show so we know what it is.
This show makes my day every time I listen. I wish I could watch it on YT but my boss frowns on me watching stuff at work.
I applaud you ladies!!
I really enjoy listening to your topic discussions, especially with Rebecca. I love when you follow along on trials, but your episodes are WAY too long! The live episodes are understandable but I find myself skipping through episodes or some all together because some of the chat just goes on for no reason or seeing 2-3 hr episodes makes me avoid them all together. Please consider more structure.
Mel and Rebecca are found a terrific job with this podcast and their banter and genuine friendship is heart warming. I am enjoying their partnership immensely. Great job ladies!

However, Rebecca grates on my nerves as she is such a know it all, who is constantly trying to prove her cohost wrong and often interrupts or talks over her, often over nothing of true import, she just needs to be right. It gives a vibe of elitism and condescension, rather than cohesion. I can also live without Rebecca rattling off her resume every episode to... more

A rigorous investigative narrative that blends meticulous research, legal context, and personal storytelling to unpack contested true-crime cases. Across seasons, the show revisits high-profile investigations, examining how evidence is gathered, how narratives are shaped by media, and where the truth may lie between headlines and courtrooms. Listeners can expect deep dives into motive, finances, forensic questions, and witness dynamics, with a emphasis on fairness and humanity toward those involved.
