  • All Around Fantastic

I have listened to probably more than my fair share of true crime podcasts, and sampled many different shows and styles; Bob was a guest on the 12th Juror, I believe, and I really liked his style, so I listened to the Lori Vallow season. Like Ali, voices are a make or break for me, and both Bob and Ali have great voices, great inflection, obviously they’re not reading off a script. The back-and-forth is great (and they are adorable how they talk to each other), and I personally love the deep di... more

  • Unorganized inconsistent

Really wanted to like this podcast. The season about gacy with all the insight was fascinating, but now it’s gone…Then got hooked on season two, but instead of finishing a season these guys go on to something else, leaving a season without an ending.

4 years to finish 1 season but you have 11 other seasons? This has to be a joke…

  • Gotta listen for yourself; reviews were hijacked.

This podcast host took some serious heat for unpopular positions on a few murder cases. After being outspoken about those positions, all of a sudden there were slew of one star hate review reviews. Interesting that.

Season one was retitled I believe, the Gacy Tapes. Season two is about the conviction of Anthony Garcia. I’m listening to season two now, it’s a fantastic deep dive. Exactly what I was looking for. This is not a one sided defense of Anthony Garcia, it’s a thorough review of the cas... more

  • Disappointed

Not everyone can podcast and be a lawyer. Time to focus on one or the other and stop giving both a half hearted attempt. The actions of this lawyer are despicable both in court and in claiming the innocence of the most clearly guilty horrible people that there are. Never finishes the series, and cares too much about his own involvement in “famous” cases than spreading true and accurate information.

  • Pathetically Biased

I was a huge fan of Bob’s in the early days, when he at least seemed to be open to objectivity. I just listened to his commentary on the Marilyn Moseby / Adnan Syed circus, and Bob has lost the plot. Worshipping the professionalism and integrity of Marilyn Moseby, declaring that Syed is definitively not the guy and speculating about how many millions he would win for his wrongful conviction. If all Bob did was read the Moseby motion, he should still have realized that Moseby was desperately t... more

The Docket Ep. 317: Gardens of Evil: Inside the Zion Society Cult Podcast: Investigator Mike King Tells All
Q: How did the investigation ultimately unfold?
It involved extensive field work, interviews, and building a case that revealed shocking abuse and manipulation.
The Docket Ep. 317: Gardens of Evil: Inside the Zion Society Cult Podcast: Investigator Mike King Tells All
Q: Can you explain the structure of the Zion Society and what role Arvin Shreeve played?
The structure revolved around Arvin Shreeve as the prophet, directing the cult's operations and the harm inflicted.
The Docket Ep. 317: Gardens of Evil: Inside the Zion Society Cult Podcast: Investigator Mike King Tells All
Q: What was your initial reaction when Erin revealed the existence of the Zion Society Cult?
I immediately felt the urgency to validate her claims and ensure the safety of children involved.
The Docket Ep. 315: Interview with Michael Chernus.
Q: How did you balance showing Gacy's manipulative side without making it feel cartoonish or over the top?
I struggled with this every day. We didn't want to do the mustache-twirly evil serial killer trope. It was crucial to show his humanity while also revealing his dark side, which was complicated by writing and character nuance.
The Docket Ep. 313: Buried: Q&A and Behind the Scenes of Ep.1
Q: Did you obtain the tapes when he was still alive? My husband was like, isn't this attorney-client privilege?
No, privilege survives death. Gacy had waived privilege, allowing access to the tapes.
