I’m so confused about where all the checks and balances are in our government.
I wanted to know how the department of Justice works in our country. I’ve been under the impression that it is separate from the administration. I assumed the DOJ were the lawyers for the people.

When a person of interest with no prior record voluntarily submits DNA and is excluded, is that DNA profile entered or retained in CODIS, or must law enforcement collect a new sample if the individual is later arrested for a completely unrelated crime.
