    “I know people like to throw around, ‘No one joins a cult’ but…” says Gillian, who loves to use that phrase when it’s convenient for her. The performative nature of how things are discussed on this show is really starting to feel yucky, AND I agree with the sentiment 99% of the time. There’s a real lack of self-awareness and virtue signaling that makes their point of view you need to attack.     This podcast is actually the reason I got into true crime podcasts and podcasts in general. For years I loved the hosts’ banter, humor, and the way they explained cases. Their friendship made the show really enjoyable, and I was even a Patreon subscriber for a long time.
