  • Truly the Best Running Podcast Out There

I‘be been looking forever for a podcast that actually makes me want to get out on a run. All due respect to anyone else who hosts a running podcast, but quite frankly a pod where some guy is talking about an article he read in Runner’s World or one where some lady is talking about what local charity 5ks in Pennsylvania she’s got coming up just aren’t going to do it for me. Consider this the introvert at the party of running podcasts: cuts past the small talk and buzz language and gets right into... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Purpose, Coaching, and the Long Game, with Rob Watson
Q: What advice would you give to someone considering a non-traditional, high-ambition path in running or any sport?
The core message centers on being present in the journey, staying patient for long-term development, and pursuing the sport for its intrinsic value (health, community, personal growth) rather than solely for quick milestones or external validation.
Purpose, Coaching, and the Long Game, with Rob Watson
Q: How has the path to pro running changed with the rise of social media and branding, compared to when you started?
He explains that sponsorship still depends on performance, but now athletes must balance performance with storytelling and audience engagement, which can be challenging for introverted runners, though it also opens access and opportunities.
Purpose, Coaching, and the Long Game, with Rob Watson
Q: What first convinced you to start running and pursue it as a lifelong path?
Rob describes growing up in a sporty family, early exposure to road racing, and the drive to push physical and mental boundaries, which set the foundation for a pro career and a lifelong identity connected to movement.
Movement, Healing and Māori Wisdom, with Aaron Kerehoma
Q: How does Te Whare Tapawha relate to running and wellbeing in the Māori worldview?
Running fits within the physical wall (Taha Tinana) and supports the broader wellbeing of the body, mind, and community across the four walls, acting as a vessel to connect people and strengthen whānau.
Movement, Healing and Māori Wisdom, with Aaron Kerehoma
Q: Aaron, could you walk us through what Pepeha is, and share your personal Pepeha?
Pepeha is a way to contextualize one's background, land, and whakapapa, offering a condensed but rich sense of identity that helps anchor conversations and connections.
