  • Hard to listen to

Was once an ok show, but with each passing episode, it becomes harder to listen to without feeling in some way lectured to about something political or extremely liberal. Very unenjoyable now and won’t be coming back. Runners, there are other podcasts out there.

  • Chris Chavez practices what he preaches!

I’ve been a listener for a while now, enjoy nerding out while I hear Chris and Preet break down race performances and speculate on future ones. Love the data driven estimates but also the intuition of the hosts. Imagine my surprise while I was doing my long run on the Central Park loop and I look up and see Chris running towards me looking while his voice was in my ear!

  • Great Athletics podcast

I really appreciate the Citius Mag podcast and being a European based fan also the fact that you include an international view on the sport

The podcast is off cause basically US focused, but I really enjoy the weekly summary show where you are focusing on the international picture of our sport. I really enjoy the inclusion of Preet Majithia, who ensure the European angle. I understand Preet is a relative newcomer to the sport, and as such I find his analysis (also of the more technical aspects, ... more

  • Want to be a fan

I used to love this podcast… And really want to again! But the amount of times Chris says “I guess” to prompt a question has made it so hard to listen. At least 50x a pod. You’re great Chris. And you know a lot. Don’t need to guess!

Vince Ciattei On Winning His First US Title In The 5000m After A Decade Of Near-Misses
Q: How did your approach to the 1500m influence your decision to target the 5K at USAs?
Finding value in crossing over from the 1500m to the 5K, and using the 5K as a proving ground to test training blocks and race tactics, helped build confidence that translated into a title run the next day.
Vince Ciattei On Winning His First US Title In The 5000m After A Decade Of Near-Misses
Q: What were the key factors that finally allowed you to win the national title after so many near-misses?
A combination of sustained training in Flagstaff with Dark Sky Distance, the support of a dedicated sports psychologist, and a shift in mindset from chasing a time to focusing on executing the race strategy and staying relaxed under pressure.
Danny Mackey On Coaching Josh Kerr To The Mile World Record Of 3:42.66
Q: What was the core strategic shift that helped Kerr break the record?
A combination of meticulous race-week planning, a carefully designed pacing strategy with wave lights and pacers, and a readiness to adapt in real time based on the athlete's responses. The emphasis was on robustness, ritual preparation, and a feedback loop between training and race-day execution that kept Kerr aligned with the record pace.
2026 USATF OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS PREVIEW
Q: What is Bandit's Unsponsored Project and why is it being brought back for US Outdoors?
Tim Rossi explains that the Unsponsored Project is designed to support athletes who are competing at a high level but lack traditional sponsorship, providing cash for travel and housing, unbranded gear to signal unsponsored status, a release clause, and a platform to tell athletes' stories, with a goal of raising the floor for all competitors.
Josh Kerr On How He Broke The Mile World Record In 3:42.66 | Full Race Recap, Breakdown + Reflections
Q: How did the whiteboard sessions and the Albuquerque meeting influence your final race strategy?
The team used the sessions to lock in the splits and race environment, but Kerr emphasizes that, ultimately, once the plan is set, you must step away from analysis and trust the work, allowing the body to execute the pace and finish.
