  • Audio Quality

I like the content, but the audio and sound quality isn’t optimal. Gault always sounds like he is in the Tube when he is speaking, same with the Jo Bros from time to time.

  • Important!

RoJo said his son asked if he had an important job. And then he proceeded to identify what he considered important jobs. Doctor was on that list. As an urgent care doctor, please know when I come home from a busy demanding chaotic shift, putting on a let’s run podcast and going for a jog is a hugely beneficial and important distraction from my important job. I love my job and I was born to do it. One of the factors that keeps me loving that job is engaging in hobbies. My favorite hobby - listeni... more

  • The best podcast for serious running fans

Put simply if you’re a serious fan of competitive track and field or road running, there is no better podcast out there! Gault and the BroJos cover every topic, have depths of knowledge, and love a good bit of banter or a searing hot take. The athlete interviews are also second to none going way beyond the usual, basic questions. Again, this is head and shoulders above any other running podcast!

  • Have Some Enthusiasm!

I have tried listening to this podcast a couple of times, but the amount of dead air in between people talking makes me think something is wrong with the podcast. The complete lack of enthusiasm and monotone voices when they’re talking about everything doesn’t make me excited to listen to the podcast either. It’s like they’re reading off of a script. Show some excitement for running and that will make me excited to hear what you’re saying.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Matthew Centrowitz 10 Years After Rio: Olympic Gold, Cole Hocker, Josh Kerr & the Golden Age of the 1500m
Q: What was the key tactical decision Centrowitz made to win the race?
He made a decisive move on the inside at around 475 meters to go, exiting the box and using a 450-meter kick to secure the lead, which he believes was essential to winning.
The Full Marius Bakken Interview: The Norwegian Method, Double Threshold, and Raising the Aerobic Ceiling
Q: What is the core idea behind your threshold-based system and why does it work?
The core idea is to keep intensity high enough to drive adaptation but keep the overall load low enough to allow frequent sessions, so you can accumulate training stimulus without breaking down. This creates a sustainable weekly structure that promotes consistent progress.
Pre Preview, Kenny Bednarek (guest) + Lutkenhaus AR?, loaded Bowerman Mile, Kipyegon returns
Q: How do you view the role of brand/storytelling and opportunities like Grand Slam Track in shaping an athlete's career?
Bednarek argues that brands and storytelling can humanize athletes, help secure livable wages, and create broader fan engagement, citing Grand Slam Track as a platform that provided visibility and income opportunities.
Pre Preview, Kenny Bednarek (guest) + Lutkenhaus AR?, loaded Bowerman Mile, Kipyegon returns
Q: What's your approach to recovery and longevity at this level, and how do you integrate new recovery tools?
He details a comprehensive regimen (cold plunges, sauna, red light therapy, massage, osteopathy), emphasizes diet (gluten-free), and supports long-term durability, noting the high cost but clear value of investing in the body.
Pre Preview, Kenny Bednarek (guest) + Lutkenhaus AR?, loaded Bowerman Mile, Kipyegon returns
Q: How many 100m races do you feel you need to run to get into a good rhythm, and how does that shape your schedule this season?
Bednarek explains that typically 1-2 races are used to shed rust and establish rhythm before settling into peak performance, with a third race helping to cement execution; the broader strategy balances performance with sponsorship and travel considerations.
