  • The best podcast for serious running fans

Put simply if you’re a serious fan of competitive track and field or road running, there is no better podcast out there! Gault and the BroJos cover every topic, have depths of knowledge, and love a good bit of banter or a searing hot take. The athlete interviews are also second to none going way beyond the usual, basic questions. Again, this is head and shoulders above any other running podcast!

  • Have Some Enthusiasm!

I have tried listening to this podcast a couple of times, but the amount of dead air in between people talking makes me think something is wrong with the podcast. The complete lack of enthusiasm and monotone voices when they’re talking about everything doesn’t make me excited to listen to the podcast either. It’s like they’re reading off of a script. Show some excitement for running and that will make me excited to hear what you’re saying.

  • Knowledgeable, entertaining, funny

Jonathan Gault and the Johnson twins are dialed into all things running, they discuss some controversial topics within the sport that some other sports journalists are afraid to, they have some entertaining arguments, bring on great guests, and are clearly very knowledgeable on what they talk about and keep you up to date on all the latest news from around the world of running.

    Favorite running podcast.

  • Jon Galt needs better co hosts

Jon Galt = 5 star reporter

    Robert Johnson = 0 star

    Weldon Johnson = 1 star

This could be a great pod if they didn’t tell Robert when they were recording or if they just found Jon a co host who actually does some research and doesn’t say ridiculous (often offensive to the athletes) things all show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Diamond League is back, Birnbaum 1:44, Valby's return, Gout Gout, Hocker vs Fisher
Q: Which athletes are the most likely to win multiple events in 2026 and how will they balance speed and endurance across the season?
The hosts argue that Birnbaum is a strong favorite for the 1500 while Langan may be better suited for the 5K; however, the outcome will depend on conference meets and how well athletes manage their peak timing across both events, with some suggesting Birnbaum could double in the 5K and 1500 while others foresee splits in titles.
Marco Langon: Going Pro, Penn Relays Revenge, and NCAAs - "I'm Not a Runner, I'm a Competitor"
Q: How did you feel about the Penn Relays performance and the DMR final, especially the close finish?
I felt I did everything I could, regretting only not being able to hold the inside rail on the last laps, and I was surprised by how fast I could close; I believed I gave my best effort and learned from the race for future approaches.
Marco Langon: Going Pro, Penn Relays Revenge, and NCAAs - "I'm Not a Runner, I'm a Competitor"
Q: Is the plan to focus on the 5K for NCAA Nationals, or are you considering the 1500 as well?
The plan has always been the 5K; there was discussion about a 1500, but I believe it would be misguided to shift focus from the 5K as it's the event I value most and see as the hardest in NCAA competition.
Marco Langon: Going Pro, Penn Relays Revenge, and NCAAs - "I'm Not a Runner, I'm a Competitor"
Q: Why did you decide to go out to California to run this meet?
One big reason was that Ryan Van Horst, Cal Poly's coach, had been trying to set up the meet for a while, and after the Penn Relays I learned we'd be racing in California, so we went out there to race and see what could come of it.
Nico Young on his road debut, 2026 big plans, extra workout & World Ultimate Champs
Q: What are your goals for the 2026 outdoor season, especially with the Ultimate World Championships on the horizon?
The primary goal is to compete at the Ultimate World Championships while aiming to win several of the mid-season races and keep up performance across the Diamond League meets.
