#15 Joe Whelan - 6 marathons in 1 year, 2:09 at CIM
Q: What have you been up to for the past couple years that has led you to this kind of breakout year where you've now run 209?
I've gotten married, worked a job in healthcare that made me constantly sick and overworked. My wife encouraged me to quit my job to focus on running. After mapping out a training plan aiming for 209, I began to realize my potential and improve my performances significantly.
#12 Mica Rivera Wood - Building Instagram and Youtube to 100k, Marathon Debut, Training with Ed Eyestone's group
Q: What has been the biggest challenges of marathon training for you so far?
Running more mileage, doing more doubles, and the mental fatigue of it all, but I feel like I'm a pretty gritty person.
#12 Mica Rivera Wood - Building Instagram and Youtube to 100k, Marathon Debut, Training with Ed Eyestone's group
Q: What made you decide now is the time to move to the marathon?
I think I was doing track for a little bit and I really enjoyed it and saw progression. If your body can handle it, I'm like, why not just do the marathon? It's such a cool event.
