When you two talk about aging as athletes, kind of funny. Been running and competing since 1973, integrating the “boys” XC team. Love that you talk about PED’s, super shoes, life, and post life as elite (no shade) athletes. Makes those of us who just keep on doing it and are still figuring out the aging thing feel like we’re still blazing a trail… for you all.

  • Keep doing what you’re doing

Des and Kara started Nobody Asked Us right when I started running more consistently and training for my first marathon. I look forward to each new episode, their intros, their dynamic, their “long short” episodes, their laughter, their updates, and their willingness to give us a piece of themselves. Thank you for all of it. It’s cool to be connected to the worlds of ladies as impressive as these two. Can’t wait to come to a live show. Please keep doing what you’re doing and being as real as you ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

4.15. Live from Boston 2026!
Q: Why do you think podium is a more realistic short-term goal for some athletes rather than aiming straight for a win?
Because Boston is unpredictable and strategic outcomes matter as much as pace; focusing on podium positions allows athletes to balance risk, conserve energy, and build momentum toward bigger goals like the Olympic Trials, while still leveraging opportunities to move up and make a statement.
3.34. The Anthony Ramos Episode
Q: Is there anything that you're scared of when it comes to the marathon?
Anthony shared his fear of needing to use the bathroom during the race, as well as concerns for his legs holding up throughout the race, but also expressed a sense of humor about it.
3.34. The Anthony Ramos Episode
Q: What has been different about running specifically compared to your previous athletic experiences?
Anthony noted that running has been far more meditative than expectation and has allowed him to have significant emotional experiences, such as processing feelings about his father's passing.
3.34. The Anthony Ramos Episode
Q: What does a day off look like for you?
On his day off, Anthony mentioned that he plans to clear out some stuff, spend time with his brother, and go for a light run followed by weight lifting.
3.34. The Anthony Ramos Episode
Q: What made you want to run a marathon?
Anthony expressed that his high school teacher had been encouraging him to run marathons for years, and he finally decided to take it on this year after being inspired by friends like Cynthia Rivo, who also runs marathons.
