I never ran in school and my running identity has always been hobby jogger or RunDisney fan. This show has made me appreciate and invest in women”s professional running. It is informative, accessible and entertaining to someone who is only expert at slow running. The chemistry between the hosts is immense and the contrast in their personas is delightful. So never mind being a Carrie or a Miranda. The REAL question is: are you a Des or a Kara?
This podcast has turned into a defense of bros and a play-by-play of Colorado HS athletics and nobody asked for it. If being roided out to“bow hunt” is an excuse to dope count me out, vanity is not a medical condition. My 5’6 great grandfather hauled game out of the Virginia forest at 80 years old with nary a peptide to be found.
These two know their stuff. They have an excellent dynamic and always keep you up to date on all things in the running world. Some of my favorite parts are hearing about what is going on in their lives. A podcast that will always entertain you and bring a smile to your face.
As a non-elite ;) contemporary of Des & Kara’s, I watched their careers and was so excited when they started the pod. It remains my go to for the hot takes, the thoughtful perspectives, the laughs, the value of friendship.
I recently went back and listened to the 1/2 dozen episodes from the first 2 years that I’d missed, and what a lovely refresh. Hearing Des tell Kara she never lifts or gets body work for the first time; the first episodes when they didn’t have a title and would just laugh th... more
