  • Sales only

Show only exists to sell. Unclear whether young kid who may partially believe what he’s saying versus just blatant dishonesty. Almost 0 concrete information given even when teased with talk about how he’s about to get into the numbers. Would not recommend waiting your time on this “show.

  • Great podcast!

The podcast consistently offers profound financial insights, and the episode on franchise investing with Jon Ostenson is particularly enlightening. Before listening to it, I hadn't fully grasped the potential of franchise investing. It's not just about business ownership; it's a strategy for building wealth and passive income.

  • Complicated stuff that needs clarity

On one hand the author of the And Asset greatly encouraging Participating Whole Life to be foundational and in the next saying how it isn’t the right tool for most uses as that foundational item.

Click bait titles with less than clear explanations.

You likely aren’t going to get the full understanding that you need, continue learning but be opened to finding more information elsewhere to flush up your understanding.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Dark Reason Private Equity Is Targeting Life Insurance
Q: What is private equity and how does it work in simple terms?
Private equity firms raise funds from external investors, acquire companies with a mix of debt and equity, manage them to extract value, and profit primarily from management fees and carried interest, often using leverage and complex restructurings.
Modern Retirement Is Dead (Here's the Unexpected Solution)
Q: How does Pension 2.0 differ from traditional pensions?
Pension 2.0 recreates a pension-like baseline using permanent life insurance to fund a set income stream, while preserving liquidity and providing a death benefit for heirs, effectively decoupling income guarantees from a single employer or pension plan.
Modern Retirement Is Dead (Here's the Unexpected Solution)
Q: What does the 4% rule look like in practice versus the fifth option?
The 4% rule is a withdrawal benchmark based on historical averages and a fixed rate that often requires a larger portfolio to sustain income; the fifth option, by using safe, non-correlated cash flows from life insurance alongside investments, can increase sustainable withdrawal rates and income with a smaller balance sheet.
Modern Retirement Is Dead (Here's the Unexpected Solution)
Q: Can you break down actuarial science and what you mean by that?
Actuarial science is the discipline insurance companies use to price products and manage longevity risk by pooling people together, which allows for benefits like a life annuity or pension to be funded in a way that pays out more than individual contributions due to the law of large numbers.
Attorney Puts Whole Life Insurance on Trial (Here's What He Found)
Q: Tell me the framework of how you, an attorney, think about life insurance.
I start by examining the contract itself, the protections it offers, and how it interacts with state law, taxes, and asset protection strategies, then I compare it to the alternatives to determine its true value within a comprehensive wealth plan.
