I have been following Suze since high school…so for over 30 years. She is practical and no-nonsense, and I appreciate that. I am now in school to be a CFP, and I thank Suze for her role in that.

I have a hard time learning anything from this podcast because I get so turned off by the cringy banter between the co-hosts. 🤢

  • Good info if you can get through the sarcasm

As a new listener I find the information provided valuable but I couldn’t stomach the insults and sarcastic comments that followed each question that was read off in a recent episode. If people are new they don’t know the advice that she’s been giving for decades. Even if they do, they’re asking for a reason. Comes across as a woman who is jaded in her career and ready to retire instead of coming from a place of genuine care.

Why on earth would Suze suggest we invest in this evil company??? While I appreciate her financial advice in general, I’m not sure how she and KT can feel ok recommending this.

What is The Point of Life?
Q: What is the point of life?
The point of life is found in the relationships, love, and shared moments with family and friends; it is about creating stability for those you care about while living gratefully in the present, not solely pursuing future milestones or retirement. Your legacy lives in the people around you and the values you pass on.
The Unthinkables
Q: How should I handle alimony and asset division when divorcing later in life with a long shared history and children?
She recommends evaluating long-term financial security over monthly impressions, considering the total lifetime value of settlements, and pursuing a fair arrangement that honors both financial stability and emotional obligations, without guilt.
The Unthinkables
Q: What should I do to protect myself financially when I'm not legally married and fear losing rights if my partner dies?
Suze advises securing legal marriage where possible, reviewing trusts and wills, ensuring a life insurance policy with you as owner and beneficiary, and getting professional legal help to set up safeguards that protect your rights and future, especially in cases involving long-term partnerships.
When to Just Let it Go
Q: Is there a safe way to handle a $16,000 credit card debt when a law firm is negotiating payoff, or should I pursue zero-interest transfers?
Avoid prolonged payments to a negotiator that hurts your credit score; consider a 0% balance transfer with a plan to pay off within the promo period or seek NFCC-based arrangements for a structured payoff.
When to Just Let it Go
Q: What should I know about ERISA versus IRA protections when considering rolling over a 401(k)?
401(k) plans under ERISA enjoy unlimited bankruptcy protection; once rolled into an IRA, protection against creditors is limited to a state-set cap; avoid moving everything to an IRA if creditor protection is a priority unless you balance other protections.
