I have been following Suze since high school…so for over 30 years. She is practical and no-nonsense, and I appreciate that. I am now in school to be a CFP, and I thank Suze for her role in that.

I have a hard time learning anything from this podcast because I get so turned off by the cringy banter between the co-hosts. 🤢

  • Good info if you can get through the sarcasm

As a new listener I find the information provided valuable but I couldn’t stomach the insults and sarcastic comments that followed each question that was read off in a recent episode. If people are new they don’t know the advice that she’s been giving for decades. Even if they do, they’re asking for a reason. Comes across as a woman who is jaded in her career and ready to retire instead of coming from a place of genuine care.

Why on earth would Suze suggest we invest in this evil company??? While I appreciate her financial advice in general, I’m not sure how she and KT can feel ok recommending this.

Is It Ok To Be Naughty With Your Money?
Q: What's the smarter move for a mega backdoor Roth vs converting existing 401(k) money?
Go for the mega backdoor Roth if your employer allows it, then consider future conversions from traditional to Roth as you approach career changes; maximize contributions each year while monitoring future needs.
Is It Ok To Be Naughty With Your Money?
Q: Should I pull extra money from an IRA to invest for fun?
Create a separate Roth IRA funded by a new account or sub-portion of an existing Roth to invest freely, while keeping traditional IRA withdrawals to cover living expenses; this avoids tax complications and allows flexible investing.
Is It Ok To Be Naughty With Your Money?
Q: I'm 78 with a $111,000 savings cushion and a pension; what would Suze do with this money?
Preserve capital and simplify for the next generation by placing a portion in Treasuries or CDs, keep real estate assets flexible for future needs, and set up a living revocable trust; avoid over-allocating to growth when the time horizon is uncertain.
Can I Afford To Take My Kids On A Vacation?
Q: Should I pay off my 15-year mortgage with inheritance money or keep it and invest elsewhere?
Yes, pay off the mortgage with half the inheritance to eliminate the largest expense and achieve security, then focus on emergency savings and retirement funds for future stability.
Can I Afford To Take My Kids On A Vacation?
Q: With my upcoming raise, is it okay to earmark a little cash each month to fund a family trip in a couple of years, or should every new dollar go toward emergency fund and aggressive debt payoff?
Put a portion toward a vacation fund but prioritize building an 8-12 month emergency fund and paying down high-interest debt before funding trips, and involve the kids in saving for the trip to teach financial responsibility.
