  • Great First Episode

This episode offered a great collection of insights from three coaches who clearly have both their hearts and their standards in the right place when it comes to youth soccer. I really enjoyed hearing their perspectives on player mentality in U.S. recreational and club soccer, especially compared to their own experiences growing up with the game in England. I’m looking forward to hearing more episodes!

#8 - How To Deal With Difficult Emotions As A Player or Parent
Q: What advice would you give in this case?
Take it as a positive. A good player can play anywhere, and the benefit is to learn from different positions.
#6 - The Reason Nobody Likes Referees (& Why We Need Them!)
Q: What should I do and how legitimate are the offers for my son to go abroad for training camps?
Be careful; avoid scams and have thorough conversations about the legitimacy before committing.
#6 - The Reason Nobody Likes Referees (& Why We Need Them!)
Q: What should I do as a parent in terms of going over to the team bench or the team tent and seeing to my kid if they need help?
Leave your kid alone. Let them deal with the coach and the situation.
#3 - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Of Player Development
Q: What advice or tips do you have for my kid's high school season?
Go into high school soccer with dedication, treat it as an extension of club soccer, and focus on training intensity and communication.
#2 - Is Winning More Important Than Player Development?
Q: I feel as though my kid should be playing in a different position. How would you answer that?
It's essential for players to understand their current position and to learn how to implement their skills effectively in that role, even if they believe they are suited for a different position.
