  • Long Time Listener

I’ve been listening to Dr. Steve since the O&A days in the mid 2000’s. He is a great guy and a real down to earth doctor. I’ll continue listening to his podcast as long as he keeps doing it. Hi Tacie!

  • Use to be good

I use to listen to Weird Medicine on XM. I don’t know what happened to this show but it’s way to long, dry, boring , and annoying. I listened to 4 shows and I ended up skipping through most of them out of boredom.

  • Excellent podcast

I’ve listened and learned so much from Dr Steve especially in regards to his wine making skills. Let’s all agree it’s perhaps the best wine made by far. “We serve no wine before it’s time” take 32.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

656 - Thyroid Storms to Tailpipe Checks
Q: Dick McGriff asks about high T3 and T4 with no symptoms and whether to escalate therapy; how do you approach diagnosis?
We explain that you can't diagnose hyperthyroidism from T3/T4 alone; you need TSH, consider pituitary/hypothalamic inputs, perform radioactive iodine uptake, antibody testing, and possibly imaging, and refer to endocrinology for a full workup.
653 - Human Touch
Q: How do Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine compare, and can they be integrated with modern medicine?
Ayurveda emphasizes individual constitutional types and lifestyle approaches, while Traditional Chinese Medicine focuses on patterns of disharmony; both can be integrated with modern diagnostics and therapies to support a holistic, evidence‑informed approach.
652 - The Spectrum of Phlegm
Q: What happens to your body parts that get removed, whether it be a leg, an arm, a finger, a tumor, a breast?
Usually they will incinerate it unless you request to keep it for religious or cultural reasons, in which case it goes to mortuary first.
652 - The Spectrum of Phlegm
Q: If you have had a heart attack before, will the second heart attack always be worse than the first?
No, not necessarily. You can have a big heart attack and then just ding a little vessel, and it could be less severe.
652 - The Spectrum of Phlegm
Q: How come that sac around the heart isn't going to fill up before then?
The sac is separate from the blood flow completely and has its own blood supply.
