Unexplained America is a weekly podcast, hosted by Lisa Ponson. I discuss true crime, paranormal, cryptid, legend, and anything unexplained connected with America. Join me for episodes rich in researching the history, background and nuance of the story perhaps a bit quirky. If possible, I love to explore the places myself and discuss the story from a personal perspective. The more creepy and unexp... more

The podcast is fine. But I can’t get over “tinker tape parade” in the Lindbergh episode.
Unexplained America is such a hidden gem! Lisa does an incredible job blending true crime, paranormal stories, legends, and folklore with rich historical research and personal insight. Each episode feels like a journey through America’s strangest corners — from eerie hauntings and cryptid sightings to lesser-known mysteries that leave you thinking long after the episode ends.

I’m just listening to episode 72. In the show yall talk about how she ended up in AR when it wasn’t necessarily the fastest route. You had also mentioned she had seen 48/50 states. It’s possible maybe she went that route because AR may have been one of the 2 states left she hadn’t visited? Just a thought.
Listen to y’all makes me want to go check these places out. I told my daughter we need to go exploring Arkansas
Lisa is a fun host! Love her energy. Topics are interesting. You never know what you’re gonna get when you listen!

A weekly show that blends true crime, paranormal phenomena, cryptids, and regional folklore with a strong historical research vibe. Host-led storytelling often includes personal narration and on-location flavor, with a mix of eerie mysteries, local history, and pop culture angles that color the cases. The format is engaging for listeners who enjoy well-researched narratives, banter between hosts, and a focus on Americana through unusual, spooky, or puzzling events. A standout is the host's willingness to visit places and weave personal observations into the history, giving the podcast a distinctive, place-rooted flavor while covering a broad spectrum of unexplained topics across the U.S.—not just crime but legends and folklore as well.
