I hope you enjoy this special presentation, an off the cuff impression of every song on the album in real time (so you can sync up your copy of the album, Pink Floyd style). Like the organic nature of the album, this is a straight reaction that's as ... more
Time to break from tradition and abandon the usual deep dive into a single album to cover a random smattering of side projects, collaborations, songs for theater and movie productions and other musical orphans. With the spin of a wheel we'll explore ... more
By 1994 it was more important that ever that David Byrne could prove there was an audience for his unique style of art rock. After a number of high-concept albums, he returned with a more accessible yet eclectic series of tunes that not only build on... more
Meet Jason Jones from Rhino Records, he's the guy behind all your favourite Talking Heads reissues from the last few years. I pepper Jason with nerdy questions about how he approaches standard album reissues as well as expanded ultra-deluxe packages ... more
David Byrne's follow up to Rei Momo, the 1992 LP "Uh-oh" co-incided with the official end of Talking Heads. A new producer helped bring a clean, commercial sound to David's oddball instrumentation and left of center lyrics. While the songs were still... more
For Mikey, the last few years have been a wild ride to say the least. When the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself and his band joined Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew to tour for the 40th anniversary of Remain In Light it should have been a hi... more
We've finally reached the first pure David Byrne solo album, no theatre soundtrack or main collaborators, David was free to do whatever he wanted and this was it. I hope this gives everyone an insight into not just the album, but a glimpse at David's... more
A series of featurettes outlining David's soundtracks and collaborations throughout the Talking Heads-era. I touch on everything from the beloved The Catherine Wheel, through the esteemed Knee Plays and The Last Emperor, to the surprisingly personal ... more
I hope this podcast keeps going — it’s brought me so much joy!
I first listened to the unlocked stop making sense episode. Once just the audio and then again with another fan synced up to the movie. Now I’m working back through listening to an album and then listening to the episode commentary on that album. Great format. And making sure I take time to appreciate the original album format (including A and B sides) - often lost in modern music releases and streaming services.
Presenter Rod has an infectious love of all things Heads related. Deep dives, critical opinion, back stories etc while his love for this band is very obvious and very engaging.
Excellent series
Very informative and a lot of fun ! Great for any true Talking Heads fan! Highly recommend

An informative and very interesting series. The author clearly knows his stuff!
easily the best one on Talking Heads (and there are some awful ones)! This podcast is a delight, easy to get into, and so in depth w/ out getting obnoxious, the narrator is so spot on! Hope he does the same for other bands i love! This is simply one of the best music podcasts ever!! omg it's brilliant - i am so thankful for this podcast
Great series, thanks for a complete retrospect.
I wanted to know about the making of naked beyond the short Wikipedia article so I came here…. AMAZING. I love the song snippets and clips from the interviews/transcript. This guy is totally qualified and can’t wait to finish the whole series! Great for a road trip.
Well researched and fun presentation. Thanks Rodney well done mate
Rodney’s show perfectly balances something most band podcasts don’t - the enthusiasm of a super fanboy AND doling out brand new insight and info. The production is fantastic and full of rare clips and cool context. Rodney is likeable and conversational. And the amount of research he does gives me a headache just thinking about it. For big TH fans, anyone now getting into David Byrne, or anyone new to the band that wants to know a great music journey. Highly recommended.
Rodney has done an incredible job here of providing a stellar look into many aspects of my favorite band ever.
He has definitely done his homework and I really enjoy each and every episode.
Thanks you Rodney for your stellar podcast.
Rodney puts so much effort into his research, and evidently has a tremendous depth of love for the band. The result is a superbly crafted and heartfelt exploration of Talking Heads. A band I’ve followed for many decades and that still gets high rotation in my house and yet I still learn so much from every episode. If you have any interest in Talking Heads at all this podcast couldn’t be more highly recommended.
Very well researched and entertaining; the host takes his time and offers some great insights!
Been a fan of Talkings Heads for a little bit now, and just hearing views from someone else is just awesome!!
