I’ve been a paraplegic for over 30 years. I studied nutrition (not an RD) and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle BUT finding and keeping that balance and healthy bowel function is difficult! I’ve used different programs and trainers etc but none are tailored to fit paralysis! It’s nice to have someone to listen to with a niche just for “me”! Thank you for sharing this info - it’s refreshing and much needed in our community
This lady is life changing, knowledgeable, kind, motherly, open. I could go on and on. I have never met her in person but she has spoken with me, listen and given advice when she didn’t need to. I am not a paying client of hers and she did not need to even answer my DMs but she did and forever life changing. More people in the world like her are needed. ❤️
Thank you so much for all of your information. I have been a quadriplegic for 22 years and have learned more from you the past year than any of my other specialists!!!
I love listening to Fatimah’s podcast. Her wealth of knowledge as a dietitian and wife of a person with a disability is unmatched. As a past client, with every episode I learn something new or have something reinforced that she taught me. If you have a physical disability or care for someone who does, give this podcast a listen. You won’t regret it!
I have been a T9/T10 complete para since 08/18/21. I found Fatima in October after coming home from rehab. Of course doctors had me on every medication imaginable to go to bathroom. Only thing that did was create loose unpredictable bowels. Fatima’s information and recipes CHANGED my life for ever. regular daily, no medications, in and out of bathroom in 10 minutes or less. Occasionally I have to stem that is it. No more accidents. I have referred my doctors to your FB page and Podcast Thank yo... more
Fatimah is so knowledgeable and engaging. In addition to her personal knowledge, Fatimah has guests on that come across just as knowledgeable. As a T-10 paraplegic for a little over three years now, I was looking for nutrition information a little more geared toward those with paraplegia. I found that and more. Enjoy!!
If you are someone living with paralysis, you NEED this podcast! From talking about gut health to eating enough protein to heal pressure wounds, the knowledge you gain is priceless. And it’s not boring! She has a great sense of humor and a way of talking that always keeps me engaged. Love it!
Thank God for people like you who are not afraid or uncomfortable discussing this subject. It’s not easy finding this type of information online. Thank you 🙏🏼
Finally, a nutrition program specifically tailored for people with SCIs! Fatimah is a wealth of knowledge, and I appreciate her valuable advice for better nutrition and bowel health.
I love that Fatimah interviews a variety of people for the podcasts and is helping spread awareness about specific nutrition needs for people with SCI!
I enjoy listening to this podcast because I learn so much useful info that’s actually relevant to me, a person with a sci.
When I research info and it’s not sci specific I have to guess if it will be okay info for my body and lifestyle but on this podcast I don’t have to do that. I can just take in all the info and tips because it’s from a trustworthy expert.
Thanks for the great podcast 😊
Fatimah offers so much knowledge and insight on nutrition for paralysis. Her advice for weight loss and improving bowel movements is so, so helpful! This is an amazing podcast!!
Always enjoy your guidance in maintaining a healthy diet. I’m on the older side of life and my habits of eating right have been poor. Thanks for giving simple real life advice for eating a diet that fits my lifestyle. After taking your 6 week course I definitely feel better which also builds confidence in daily life.
I am a caregiver to my husband who is a quad and all I can say is THANK YOU for bringing the discussion of diet and nutrition to the paralysis community. Without doctors promoting the importance of healthy diets in this SCI community, we see leaky gut, low immunity and devastated microbiomes from too many pharmaceuticals. Without good food, the health of someone with an sci rapidly declines. We are so glad Fatimah is here to educate everyone - she is literally saving lives. Bravo.
This podcast makes an absolutely invaluable addition to my life. I’m happy that I can now have solid advice on the quantities of food I should be eating. It’s so hard when you are the only one in your family that doesn’t know how much to eat yet everyone around them is expecting them to eat like a full able-bodied person. I hope to also take advantage of the paralysis nutrition program. Highly recommend you should check out the podcast, the book and the program! Thank you Fatima!
