  • Spreading hate

You should already know this by some of the call-ins you get, but there are many gardeners from the US who listen. The hateful things you continue to say and infer on the air about us is disappointing. What our govt does is not reflect all of its citizens. Shame on you.

When Exactly Do We Start Tomato Seeds?
Q: Should I prune hibiscus now to encourage blooming, and how should I water and fertilize to maximize flowering?
Prune to shape and remove dense or crossing branches as days get longer, then root 2-4 inch cuttings and transition them outside for real-world sun and humidity; avoid over-fertilizing with nitrogen and use a flowering-focused fertilizer if you fertilize, while allowing slight water stress between waterings to encourage flowering.
When Exactly Do We Start Tomato Seeds?
Q: When is the best time to seed tomatoes in Mississauga given last frost dates?
Count back from the last average frost date (early May) about six weeks and start indoors so that plants are 2-3 inches tall before transplanting, to avoid transplanting overly large plants.
Flowers say Happy Valentine's Day!
Q: Can I repot a baby orchid that has grown from the flower stem?
Yes, you can repot it in a small pot with orchid media once you see roots emerging from it.
Flowers say Happy Valentine's Day!
Q: Is it a good time to fertilize my poinsettia?
Yes, as the days get longer, it's good to fertilize your poinsettia and keep it in a bright spot during summer.
Flowers say Happy Valentine's Day!
Q: Do you have any recommendations for reliable pollinator seed mixes?
It's better to use individual annual flowers or recommended mixes like from Mackenzie Seeds instead of generic mixes.
