  • The best of the best

Absolutely recommend this podcast to singers, educators of music, the voice and anyone who just loves learning new things! Nikki’s warm, curious and natural interviewing style keeps me coming back for more and have loved listened to her back catalogue of episodes. So many great tips for working with singers, and also amazing to learn of other teachers and their work in the voice community. I would give this 10 stars!!

  • A must-subscribe podcasts for singers and voice teachers and parents!

This podcast has more invaluable content for voice teachers and music teachers than most paid formal professional development endeavors. Mostly evergreen content too!

216 | The Voice Teacher’s Role in Vocal Health Challenges with Dr. Heather Nelson
Q: What does a typical week look like for a vocologist like you, and how do you balance university work with private clients?
Heather describes a mix of short-term private sessions, university commitments, and ongoing studio work, aiming to empower clients to “work themselves out of a job” by giving them a clear plan and flexible follow-up if needed.
214 | Navigating Chronic Illness & Vocal Injury with Hannah May
Q: What was the moment you realized you needed to change how you work to protect your health?
The moment of diagnosis and the ongoing need to balance teaching, performance, and self-care; the realization that boundaries and intentional rest would enable me to serve clients better in the long term.
211 | Alleviating Stress & Overfunctioning with Lisa Pinnock
Q: Do you have any suggestions for teachers that hold all of that so close and can't really let it go at the end of the day?
There's a lot of power in ritualizing the pause, finding morning and evening rituals that help ground you in gratitude and set the tone for your day.
