Potterhead married Harry Potter Virgin. After finishing the series together in Seasons 1-7, they're now tackling the larger, broader, and more complicated discussions about the Wizarding World and how it intersects with our own. Weird impressions, terrible singing, and (still) many tangents abound.

  • More Than A Podcast

I found this podcast while looking for podcasts that covered All The Young Dudes and I ended up finding so much more. Of course their conversations relating to Harry Potter is top tier the little bits of person connection can’t be compared. I have found great comfort in their side conversations about the state of the world and finding peace and joy through patronus moments. To Amanda and Kevin: Thankyou for putting this out into the world and for creating the feeling of home within a podcast.

  • A lovely addition to the "one fan, one newbie" genre of podcasts. The hosts are socially conscious and insightful, and the podcast has a fun relationship-centric gimmick to it. I've only listened as far as book two so far, but I'm quite excited to hear more!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Interrogation: The Season 11 Finale!
Q: What are your thoughts on the Harry Potter-themed party you're throwing?
I would throw a party designed like Bill and Fleur's wedding with a Champagne Tower and all the vibes from the movies.
Interrogation: The Season 11 Finale!
Q: How have the movies influenced your visual headcanon? Would it be different if you had never seen the movies?
I am super appreciative of the way that Hogwarts looks in the movies, as I think it does justice to the architecture I wouldn't capture well in my mind.
Peter Piper's Pickled Past: All The Young Dudes Ch. 16-19
Q: Has there been anything in the story that has really surprised you?
Yes, that was probably the biggest shock of the whole series to me.
Colors Are Missing, Colors Are Back: Revisiting "The Very Secret Diary"
Q: What do you think is the most important thing that young adults or little kids can learn from the entire series?
The most important lesson is that power is not inherently good and those who seek it without care for the consequences should be distrusted.
Hootie and the B: ATYD Ch. 29-31
Q: How would you read chapter 29 if you were doing an audiobook for All the Young Dudes?
I would say chapter 29, December moon.
