  • Rekindled my love of reading

My New Year’s resolution was to watch less Netflix and read more books and this podcast is helping me do that. I started listening in 2025 and have already been through three of their suggestions! I have a suggestion for an episode-please discuss Les Miserables. I’ve decided to take it on as a reading challenge and would appreciate some guidance!

  • The First Time I’ve Rage-Quit a Podcast Episode

I was about halfway through the Donna Tartt episode when I just couldn’t take it anymore. I wasn’t able to follow the discussion because my mind was singularly focused on the most important question about Tartt’s “The Secret History”:

How the [bleep] have I not read this book yet?!

And so I did what any rational reader irrationally beset by podcast-induced book FOMO would do. I turned it off and picked up the book!

Not only was this gem missing from my TBR but I’d never even heard of Donna Ta... more

  • Promising, but long-winded

I’m glad I discovered this podcast! It’s been a great way to get trustworthy book recommendations. I really want to keep listening, but the hosts need to get much more organized and concise. The hosts give wonderful thoughtful commentaries, but they’re often repetitive and state the same point in 10 ways before moving on. I find it hard to make time for these 1h30m sprawling conversations, knowing half the episode is wasted space. A tighter (say 45 min) show would be much more enjoyable and I’d ... more
