  • Insanely good!

Dax is so intelligent, inquisitive & open minded. His recall of locations (specifically roadways) is impressive. And his banter with Monica is so much fun! Is there such thing as binge listening? I can’t get enough!

  • Dax Shepard is Rude

I don’t care for this show. Dax Shepard is rude and I feel like he speaks down to his wife. I feel like he’d be a dude who would describe himself as a “nice guy” when really he’s a jerk.

  • Dax works Monica does not

Dax is great, but I can’t listen due to that Monica chick interrupting and adding zero value to the conversation. Does little to no research where Dax’s does his homework on the guests. The podcast would be better without her input. Who is she anyway??

The last story did not seem real. Is it possible it was made up? Seemed very unlikely.

Emily & Matt Hyland (Emily Burger)
Q: What were the biggest challenges in scaling Emily's to multiple locations while maintaining culture?
Balancing front-of-house and back-of-house operations, keeping a cohesive menu across 30 locations, and implementing training at scale with a corporate team while preserving the intimate, homey ethos of the original restaurants.
Emily & Matt Hyland (Emily Burger)
Q: How did your early experiences shape the decision to open a pizza place instead of sticking with traditional culinary paths?
Their hands-on stage work and a desire to own a business with a strong, personal identity led them to pivot from conventional culinary routes to opening a Brooklyn-based restaurant focused on pizza, community, and a signature sauce that defined the brand.
Michael Pollan Returns (on consciousness)
Q: What is consciousness, and why is it hard to define scientifically?
Consciousness is the subjective experience and first-person point of view that scientific methods struggle to quantify, because science is primarily third-person and objective, while consciousness is inherently private and qualitative.
