This show continues to amaze me. You find topics I have never thought about like train hopping!! Simon was such a compelling guest. And David, literally multiple times, I asked a question out loud and then you asked it like where they’d go when injured. Thank you for a great episode. (Drinking cultures like Wisconsin, Chicago and other Midwest places might be an interesting future topic. We’re pros in that part of the country.)
I typically like this podcast and find it interesting to hear someone’s new perspective on places and topics that we as Americans have always grown up with and known.
The Koney 2012 episode starts off by both hosts talking as they normally do and then they both go off topic talking about the “Cracker Barrel Debacle” and then into gun control.
They make statements like “AK 47’s are killing machines and Americans love it.” And “How effective outrage can be over a brand change and ineffective it... more
Unfortunately this podcast is going downhill. They don’t research. I usually know more about a topic than they do and that says a lot. Also if you’re looking for a one sided unintelligent discussion this might be for you.
This show has gone up in quality significantly after leaving the armchair umbrella. While I enjoyed the early episodes in their quirkier topics into what makes the USA tick, David and Rob now dive into the country under a more critical and unfiltered lens. It is both refreshing and often uncomfortable and makes you question your complicity in some of the icky parts of our country. They do a great job sprinkling in those light-hearted episodes too but are really doing the work in trying to get Am... more
