  • Comforting and informative

I only recently discovered the show and I’m quickly catching up with the back catalogue. I find David’s voice and accent very comforting for some reason and I 100% agree with his takes on the insanity of some aspects of the USA culture.

  • Fun listen

Just found this show - binging episodes today. I downloaded a bunch of random episodes, and I really love the newer ones that are just David and Rob. They’re so much better than the older ones, host-wise. So glad David kept it going on his own!

  • Monica is insufferable

Glad she leaves later in the series. but it’s not a very well rounded POV. David interviews one person and makes it his topic and view on the matter. LA is hardly what the rest of the country is like. And it seems to really be focused on white people topics. It’s fine to listen to to pass the time, but it’s hardly deep dives into topics.

  • Too Political Anymore

Wow, the 4.9 star average is not representative of the last year of reviews, and I have to agree with almost all of the negative reviews. This show used to be awesome, but the last year or two has just become way too political. There’s plenty of annoying hot topic political podcasts out there if that’s what we want, but those have all gotten so annoying and out of control too…the podcast bubble has burst, and these two aren’t doing themselves any favors by spewing their LA bubble viewpoints to t... more

Their stories mostly reflect fun, community, and empowerment, despite some issues with management.
Hooters

Rosabel feels that there is no objective truth about the country, and while David's view is just his perspective, he does seem to have a strange view of New Zealand at times.
The Parasocial Listener
Q: What is the unique situation Nick finds himself in?
Nick's brain tumor is rare, and he is aware that it will likely come back, leading him to live each day more intentionally.
