  • Excited!

Oooo! Am I excited for this! Long time follower of Daniel Vitalis. Right back to when I met him in person at one of his talks in Calgary, must be close to 20 years ago! Since he’s been doing TV shows lately I’ve been missing it. Excited he’s back where it’s easier to keep up with him. He’s always had such thought provoking topics and fascinating concepts to bring to the table. Very excited for this new podcast and to hear what he’s been learning about lately.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sunlight and Mitochondrial Health — Andreas David Christou #007
Q: What do mitochondria do for us in our cells, and how can we crank them up?
Mitochondria generate cellular energy, but the discussion emphasizes multiple checkpoints in the electron transport chain, especially cytochrome C oxidase, and the production of mitochondrial water that hydrates cells from within; energy factory health depends on environmental inputs like light, temperature, and EMF, and on lifestyle factors such as exercise and circadian alignment.
Walking Isn't Optional — Dr. Courtney Conley #005
Q: What practical steps can listeners take to start improving foot strength and function?
Begin with five minutes of barefoot walking per day, gradually increase load, use wide-toe-box minimal footwear, and incorporate specific exercises like toe- and shin-strengthening movements, as well as progressive loading of the foot through controlled drills.
Birth, Death, and Our Life in Between — Tom Myers #001
Q: How has standing up changed our psychobiology?
Standing up liberated the body from a quadrapedal posture, reshaping the spine, digestion, and overall biomechanics, which altered movement, safety, and social behavior.
Luddites and the AI Reckoning — Brian Merchant #003
Q: What can workers do moving forward to protect themselves against AI-driven labor displacement?
Engage in grassroots organizing, form or join unions, push for protections in contracts, and push for governance that prioritizes human labor alongside technological advancement.
Luddites and the AI Reckoning — Brian Merchant #003
Q: How does the Luddites' story relate to today's AI landscape and corporate incentives?
The parallel lies in how new technologies are deployed to extract more profit and control, often at workers' expense, while the broader society should consider how to deploy tech for shared benefit.
