I used to love this podcast and I no longer listen. Episode 98 with Teva Johnstone perpetuates a lot of harm and hatred. I am not willing to continue listening to something that mixes in hate towards trans people and proudly claims an unwillingness to be with the complexity of harm, and responsibility, that comes with inheriting a colonial legacy. For other podcast options for lovers of herbalism I recommend Smoke Break by the folks at Wild Gather herb school, and lovers of story medicine Findin... more
I got into this podcast because I appreciated the swerve away from all-in dietary thinking. I was having lots of healing experiencing listening to this podcast, but after only a few episodes, a few of the guests were really in their gender lanes, which was hard for me to stomach as a trans non-binary person, and hurts everyone (cis people don’t need that conformity burden and limitation, either). Sadly, I’m used to filtering gender stuff, but there are a bunch of reviews here showing she’s more... more
Hello, I like this show but there is a recent episode I think titled wartimes disrupted our food ways where the topic is great hunt the guest, Kaleigh, makes super broad generalizations about gender roles that turned me off so bad that I stopped listening. I am a petite, gender conforming cis person who fits very neatly into typical roles and expectations for ‘women’ on the surface but love hobbies and outlets that are typically viewed at for ‘men’. Literally a sentence she used was women don’t ... more
This podcast has been my companion for almost three years (I just figured out how to leave a review!!), and strangely enough, every time I caught up with the next episode, it was taking exactly about what I’ve been intuitively connecting to. It felt like finding a coven, where each share was validating what I had been receiving.
Amber’s soothing voice, brilliance as an interviewer, and transparency has been like a balm to my nervous system.

I absolutely love listening to Amber and her guests talk about motherhood and womanhood in a way that holistically supports women in all stages. So grateful for this show—thank you 🙏
