Ezra Klein invites you into a conversation on something that matters. How do we address climate change if the political system fails to act? Has the logic of markets infiltrated too many aspects of our lives? What is the future of the Republican Party? What do psychedelics teach us about consciousness? What does sci-fi understand about our present that we miss? Can our food system be just to human... more

The writer Ta-Nehisi Coates was harshly critical of my response to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. In an article in Vanity Fair, he suggested I was whitewashing Kirk’s legacy, comparing it to the whitewashing of the Southern cause after the Civil War. more
This is McCarthyism 2.0.
Since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the Trump administration has been speed-running an attack on the “radical left.” And the tactics it has been using are darkly reminiscent of the Red Scare of the 1940s and ’50s. So what c... more
The Utah governor is trying to model a different kind of leadership in a very dangerous political moment.

Watching Klein gallop to the right is more painful than Musk tweeking in the Oval Office
I tried this out first a few years and I enjoyed some of the guests but Ezra’s takes fall somewhere on the neoliberal to neoconservative spectrum. Not great but it’s politics as usual in the US. He has embarrassed and degraded himself beyond the consideration of serious journalism with the Charlie Kirk stuff. If the west wing was a person, it would be Ezra Klein. Oh an abundan... more
Been an off and on listener for a long time. More often than not he reads as self important, really indulging in his own thought process— attempting to be more of a philosophical voice than a journalist.
After his recent response to CK though, he feels to be playing both sideism and was completely off base in telling progressives how to feel. We don’t need any more self important devils advocates in this world
We learn through historical and political study that the erosion of women’s rights are precursors and symptoms of authoritarianism. We see in scripture that the worse women are treated, the worse society becomes. The tent doesn’t need to move to the right. I sense that Mr. Klein is very shaken by current events. I hope he finds his way back to himself.
Neoliberal pusher, corporatist, Zionist, and now far-right apologist. This liberal darling epitomizes the morally corrupt hollowness of his cohorts.
The fact that anyone who has a shred of conscience and half a brain still makes excuses for his phony hot air utterances just shows you the abysmal public discourse of this country.
