Ezra Klein invites you into a conversation on something that matters. How do we address climate change if the political system fails to act? Has the logic of markets infiltrated too many aspects of our lives? What is the future of the Republican Party? What do psychedelics teach us about consciousness? • Clearly compromised

Lacks any kind of journalistic integrity and falls in line with NY Times spineless editorial slant.

  • Nitwit’s omphaloskepsis is a waste of time

Ezra is a dimwit. Why is it so hard for anyone to say so? He has landed in this position by pure luck, and has the audacity to write a book blaming Democrats for failing to deliver “abundance” when every economic indicator shows that few can afford the surfeit of everything because billionaires refuse to increase wages and to pay taxes. This man is a huge discredit to the Times, informed discourse and reasoning.

  • Annoying faux paywall

I subscribe to the Times and read it on my phone. I also listen to Ezra Klein’s podcast frequently, and other Times podcasts occasionally, again, on my phone. Why can’t the Times be bothered to link its podcasts to its subscriber base? I do not want to have to sign in twice to get the same coverage. You can tell this because I am willing to take the time to write you instead of signing in again. Your move to make people pay for the podcasts is ill advised, and it is also frankly annoying for tho... more

I Asked a Former Trump Official to Justify This War
Q: Tell me about The Globalist Delusion and its argument.
The argument contrasts a traditional globalist approach—emphasizing global problems and solutions—with a state-first approach that prioritizes national interests and bilateral solutions, suggesting the Trump administration favored the latter as a more effective framework for achieving outcomes.
I Asked a Former Trump Official to Justify This War
Q: What are America's core national interests when it comes to Iran?
The core national interests center on protecting the homeland, growing prosperity, preserving peace through strength, and deterring threats, with Trump-era actions framed as enforcing red lines and countering Iran's nuclear program while weighing the consequences of force.
What Trump Didn’t Know About Iran
Q: What was the theory behind the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and what did it aim to achieve?
JCPOA aimed to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon for at least 15 years by constraining its nuclear program, increasing transparency with rigorous inspections, and offering economic incentives in exchange for compliance, with the understanding that sunsets would eventually lift some restrictions.
What Trump Didn’t Know About Iran
Q: Take me through the thinking that leads to the JCPOA.
The Obama administration pursued a strategy that used large-scale sanctions to pressure Iran while keeping a diplomatic opening, ultimately allowing limited but tightly monitored uranium enrichment and a framework that could lead to broader engagement if trust built over time.
The Great Lie of War
Q: Ben Rhodes, welcome to the show.
Good to see you, Ezra.
