  • NYT Has Overwhelmingly Pro- Jewish Bias

Hard to ignore the overwhelming number of pro-Israel & Jewish hosts, guests, and journalists featured in NYT stories.

  • Too glib chuckling when opining about the fate of the Western World

Can we consider what the hosts are serving as critical thinking and analysis when they are at the same time chuckling about the war? Is the aim of this podcast to be entertaining, or to be credible? The current balance is not working for me. I’ve tried twice now on my first episode, but when they get to laughing (yet again) about how funny they think they are, I hit pause and go listen to something else.

  • David Brooks

More of David Brooks and Robert Siegel please.

They raise the standard which is badly needed. Drop the purile “moments of joy” ending. It’s nauseating and purile in the extreme.

  • Good Content, Bad Delivery

Quit with the fake laughter and the heavy, heavy jokes. NYT is afraid not to dumb down their content.

Started listening today again and cannot make it through the giggling, lisping and simpering hosts and guests.

  • Did wokeness leave us worse off?

The fact that NYT leaves this to be debated by a crew of Gen Z Park Slope wokesters without the slightest voice of moderation demonstrates just how presumptive the use of the past tense in this title is.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

‘We Are Going to Deeply Regret This War’
Q: To start, how do you think Trump is doing in handling this war, EJ?
The panelists argue that Trump's approach is erratic and could undermine U.S. credibility and allied cohesion, with the war exposing weaknesses in leadership and strategy.
What Do You Do When a Family Member Commits a Terrible Crime?
Q: What changes when you consider the system as a whole rather than focusing solely on the individual offender?
The guest discusses shifting away from carceral logic—toward collective responsibility that includes supporting families, ensuring safe and meaningful contact with incarcerated parents, and recognizing the humanity of those inside the system.
What Do You Do When a Family Member Commits a Terrible Crime?
Q: How do families navigate the tension between accountability for a loved one's crime and maintaining a relationship with that person?
Harriet explains that accountability is a prolonged process and that families can stay connected to support healing, while recognizing that trust may be earned slowly and that children deserve to see that love exists even in the face of harm.
Why Voters Might Finally Blame Trump for Rising Costs
Q: What would the off-ramp be for Trump in this situation?
The guest notes that the 'taco trade'—the idea that Trump will back down when markets punish him—has limited applicability; the policy options exist but may have marginal impacts, and credibility depends on sustained actions rather than abrupt reversals.
Why Voters Might Finally Blame Trump for Rising Costs
Q: Where do you see this going from here? Do you think he's backing down? Has he reached sort of the point of too much economic discomfort?
The guest explains that the situation is dynamic, with markets and political signals likely to push for measured responses rather than sweeping shifts; energy policy and sanctions will continue to interact, and observers should watch how markets react to ongoing tensions and policy recalibrations.
