  • Awesome Podcast

After I went through being scammed, I was able to find Operation Shamrock and Erin West. I started to listen to Erin West and her guests on her podcast. I felt enlightened and understand that there is a dark world out there that anyone can be deceived. This podcast is very informative about how evil people can be very manipulative and cruel but at the same time there are people that can help a victim going through recovery process.

  • Glad this spreads awareness

Very engaging podcast! I’m glad Erin is spreading awareness of how common these scams are, that it affects all of us. I’ve been victim of a scam, the scammer someone pretending to be animal control and claiming they found my cat injured on the side of the road and in need of immediate surgery. I lost a few hundred dollars during an already financially difficult time. When your emotions are being manipulated, it’s so difficult to acknowledge the red flags.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

From Credit Card Bust-Outs to Pig Butchering: A 26-Year Fraud Fighter Exposes the Gaps | Steve Lenderman
Q: Tell me about the rationalization.
Rationalization is a key part of the fraud triangle; scammers justify their actions as necessary or deserved, often citing long-term payoffs, insurance, or prior compliance to rationalize a breach of trust, and this cognitive process makes detection harder because the fraud feels personal and justified.
How a Fake Amazon Call Turned Into a Full-Blown Government Impersonation Scam (Ep 32)
Q: How has this affected your life moving forward?
It pushed me to speak publicly about scams, join and lead support networks for survivors, and develop presentations to educate others so they don't fall for similar tricks, turning trauma into advocacy and community safety.
How a Fake Amazon Call Turned Into a Full-Blown Government Impersonation Scam (Ep 32)
Q: What was the key turning point in recognizing it as a scam?
The moment the bank manager invited me into his office, asked supportive questions, and then showed me on his computer an empty construction site that confirmed I was being scammed, which led to authorities being notified.
How a Fake Amazon Call Turned Into a Full-Blown Government Impersonation Scam (Ep 32)
Q: Tell me about what happened to you.
I received a call that appeared to be from Amazon and was guided through a cascade of transfers to supposed fraud departments, getting increasingly specific with details and 'proof' that made the scam feel legitimate, ultimately leading me to withdraw and ship a large sum of money under the instruction of someone posing as government officials.
SOLUTIONS: Taking Down a Scam Kingpin: Jake Sims on the arrest and extradition of Chen Zhi (Ep. 35)
Q: What are the three goals for 2026, and how might they be pursued?
The guests outline accountability for criminal regimes, accountability for private-sector enablers, and investment in the evidence ecosystem, with a plan to fund civil society groups, support rigorous research, and promote coordinated sanctions and indictments globally.
