Reviews

4.5 out of 5 stars from 88 ratings
  • Could be really good

It doesn’t put carrier problems at the forefront, it’s more important to the show to make the union more political than to actually make working conditions better for all carriers.

  • For carriers?

I can’t tell if this podcast is for letter carriers or just another far left propaganda machine. Seems like every other episode is straight from MSNBC. The show was good in the beginning when it was about carrier education and the contract.

Great podcast if you’re involved in the NALC, want to be or just interested in the happenings of the NALC. Great job fellas! The AI (?) reading of “Undelivered” was awful.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

[Part 5]'Ask Mike Caref Anything'
Q: If you were elected president, would you push for national training or keep it regional?
The national union should generally organize training because it aligns with the national contract and creates standardized guidance, while regional logistics can handle local implementation to save money and maintain accessibility.
[Part 2]’Ask Mike Caref Anything'
Q: How would you ensure accountability and prevent rogue leadership if elected?
I would establish a transparent accountability framework with a defined oversight group, regular public reporting, and explicit constitutional protections to prevent autocratic control, including mechanisms for resignation or replacement if leadership diverges from member interests.
[Part 3]'Ask Mike Caref Anything'
Q: What is your strategy for mobilizing members and influencing leadership during elections?
Mobilization should start regionally and branch-by-branch, with campaigns that provide materials, magnets, pens, and outreach to every member, while maintaining integrity and avoiding compromising core principles.
[Part 3]'Ask Mike Caref Anything'
Q: How do you plan to handle workplace culture and harassment issues identified by members?
We must remove cycles of harassment by eliminating or reforming supervisory roles that enable it, enforce a zero-tolerance stance on harassment, and ensure every bullying incident can be grieved and addressed promptly.
[Part 3]'Ask Mike Caref Anything'
Q: What is your view on how the grievance process should work and who should drive it?
The grievance process needs to be empowered locally with strong Article 17 rules and should be funded by the employer rather than relying on outside interventions. We must ensure every branch knows how to pursue grievances and that leadership enforces the contract, with a focus on timely action.
