Thanks Tim for saying it outloud that of course Melania’s English is a joke. If she were a democrat Maga’s would nail her to the wall.

Also ! Of course it’s complete BS that t says Birgitt Macrom is better looking. He’s so full of it. It’s what we all think amd Jane could have fully agreed instead of trying to walk a stupid line

  • OK

I also think Melania's accent is funny but I cannot accept people who supported Bad Bunny's fully Spanish Super Bowl who then say "speak English" to our First Lady. Insane

  • Best political podcast out there

Tim Miller is a great podcast host and interviewer. Behind his self-deprecating drawl is a very savvy political mind … and a sound moral compass. Plus he has just the right proportions of outrage, wonkiness, and humor. Pearls before swine, baby. Peace out.

  • Jane and Tim Catholic Comments

I love that their opinion is that Catholics “do it right” compared to other denominations. No religion is perfect or does things right. Every denomination is flawed as all people are flawed. I’m confident God is looking down and shaking his head at every single denomination and person on this planet because we are all missing the mark by a significant margin of error!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

David French and Suhas Subramanyam: The Superpower Folded in Front of the Whole World
Q: As a member of the Oversight Committee, what should Democrats be thinking about next year in terms of investigations and oversight power?
Focus on enforcing subpoenas, pursuing accountability for the Trump administration, considering War Powers resolutions, and prioritizing top-three investigations while not letting ongoing corruption go unchecked.
David French and Suhas Subramanyam: The Superpower Folded in Front of the Whole World
Q: First, wanna focus on something really important happening in Virginia, making sure our audience knows about it, and what's this redistricting referendum about?
The referendum would temporarily redraw districts through the next cycle to counter mid-decade redistricting efforts, potentially shifting delegation from 6-5 to a more favorable balance for Democrats, with safeguards like a bipartisan commission if the legislature fails.
Robert Kagan: We’re Transitioning to a Post-American World
Q: So why don't you just give us a little bit on what your instinct was on this.
Kagan explains that the instinct was skepticism about a quick or solely air-based solution to Iran, emphasizing long-term regional consequences and the limits of air power without a ground component.
Ronan Farrow and Andrew Marantz: The Dangers Posed by Sam Altman
Q: What is the origin story of OpenAI's non-profit mission and how did it evolve?
OpenAI started as a non-profit safety lab with a plan to frame governance and regulation, but as funding and competing incentives emerged, the model shifted toward growth, leading to tension over whether the mission stayed true.
Ronan Farrow and Andrew Marantz: The Dangers Posed by Sam Altman
Q: Why does it matter whether Sam Altman can be trusted?
Because leadership in OpenAI sits at the intersection of safety, innovation, and profitability, and trust determines whether the company can balance risk with rapid advancement while maintaining legitimacy with regulators and the public.
