  • Too many ads!

I used to listen to this podcast every Saturday.

I cut way back my daily news diet after the 2024 election. I decided to listen to the latest episode and was instantly reminded of another reason I stopped listening. While it is very informative and used to make me regret not going to law school, there are way too many ads! The first 7-8 minutes of the latest episode was Kim reading a sponsor ad. With each show having 4-5 sponsors, that’s at least a third of the show taken up with ads. I wish th... more

  • So informative!

I feel that we finally have a reality check when tuning in. The expertise here is unparalleled. I really wish that the laughter when reporting very serious issues could be toned down. I know that it can’t all be serious but some of the laughter is unsettling. When you all admit that serious issues are not funny, maybe don’t project laughter.

  • POV

Podcasts that are incorrect or not thoroughly researched are becoming too prevalent. This pod always seemed to be different. However, please, get it right. According to mainstream media, Hillary was deposed for six hours in Chappaqua not nine or 11

Again, it must be mentioned. The incessant, ridiculous, giggling, and screeching is a total distraction. Kim, you demean yourself with you’re extremely loud, distracting, and offensive giggling.

    Terrific show.

Why was Maxwell the only co-conspirator charged in New York? Who would’ve made that decision

Les Wexner and Trump seem to be obvious co-conspirators. (I don’t know the time frame the New York case covered).

Les Wexner met with my then boss in the mid 80s for lunch on a very frequent basis.

I don’t know if Wexner was subject to New York jurisdiction, but it’s shocking he was never interviewed.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

284: The $64,000 Question
Q: Are there legal roadblocks to bringing back the draft, could Trump do it unilaterally?
The guests clarify that the draft was abolished and cannot be revived unilaterally by the president; it would require new legislation passed by Congress and signed by the president, or an overridden veto, highlighting the constitutional requirement for congressional involvement.
284: The $64,000 Question
Q: What's stopping the DOJ from destroying Epstein files they don't want public?
The hosts explain that destroying requested, legally discoverable documents would be a crime under the existing law, especially since the documents have been demanded by law and in some cases required by statute; this makes unilateral destruction unlikely and legally risky.
281: Order In The Court
Q: What are the chances of the courts ruling in favor of the plaintiffs in UHA v. Bondi?
The hosts express optimism, arguing that the government's initial arguments have already been rejected and a preliminary injunction is likely, though the final outcome awaits the court's decision.
283: A Pirate’s Life For Us
Q: What are the work responsibilities of a paralegal and is a law degree required?
Barb and Joyce describe paralegals as performing diverse tasks—from research and deposition summaries to managing evidence and aiding trial preparation—and emphasize that many paralegals have varied educational backgrounds, with AI playing a role but needing human quality control.
283: A Pirate’s Life For Us
Q: What can be done to get the findings released from Judge Cannon and impeach a partisan judge? Can FOIA be used?
They discuss FOIA as a potential route, explain the regulatory framework around special counsel reports, and note that the 11th Circuit could provide a different path forward, potentially moving the issue toward transparency.
