  • The question pending

How is it that Trump’s new qualifying hoops are not, effectively, a poll tax? Has this not been determined to be unconstitutional?

Is there any evidence that suggests that the proposed voting hoops do not require buying the right to vote?

The ID itself has costs; the resolving birth names vs married names, and resolving signature equivalents each create costs of funds, time and effort to resolve.

How is voting rights ignored ?

  • Fake laughter + too many adverts = not enough content to hold my interest

Andrew is trying to sound amused and comes across entirely insincere and fawning toward his cohost. Add that to the fact that the advertisements account for almost as much airtime as the show and I'm left to wonder how I can better spend my time.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Transitive Immunity
Q: What is the statute of limitations for Comey seashells-related charges, and how does that affect potential trials?
The federal statute of limitations for the relevant offenses is typically five years, though some crimes may have different periods if specified by law; this generally keeps the window open for a trial within five years of the alleged actions.
Transitive Immunity
Q: If Trump can grant pardons, can states still pursue charges against people he pardoned, and how does immunity interact with this?
Pardons can protect against federal prosecution, but state prosecutions can still proceed; immunity concepts, especially around presidents, may limit some actions, yet state charges can still apply if not covered by federal immunity.
Polygraphs
Q: Jorge asks whether a president can pardon someone for future crimes or only for uncharged or past acts, and if a deathbed pardon is possible in US history.
They answer that a president can pardon uncharged acts from the past but cannot forgive future crimes; deathbed pardons do not exist in US history.
Polygraphs
Q: Ian asks, is it wrong to call Trump's advisors the liquor cabinet, and is hyperbole protected First Amendment speech?
The hosts affirm it as hyperbole, noting it is protected First Amendment speech and a metaphor, not a factual claim.
UnJustified | Blanche’s Audition Tape
Q: Can the DOJ or White House continually override or influence state bar investigations into attorney conduct, and what are the limits of such interference?
They discuss that state bars regulate licensing, not the federal DOJ, and while the DOJ can pursue internal investigations, real bar discipline is administered by states; hence, federal influence over state bar outcomes is limited, though political considerations can create strategic pressure.
