  • Fugelsang cheers..

Me up big time! This week was so discouraging. Ugh.

Even AG & DG sounded so tired. Along comes Mr. Fugelsang and reminds us of all the gains we HAVE made, with the me too movement, LGBTQ rights, and all the people putting themselves in harms way to protect their friends and neighbors. His reminders that we have made progress were very much needed to counteract all the defeat we seem to be experiencing. Thanks much 💙

    Hi Ladies

Just wanted to thank you for your podcast. I’m from Canada and have found the conduct of ICE agents deplorable. Why Democrat leaders aren’t calling for the elimination of ICE is beyond me.

Trump’s plan to send 1500 paratroopers in addition to the 3000 ICE agents in Minneapolis/ St Paul is a cause for concern. I think this is an attempt to get the protests to become violent so Trump can invoke The Insurrection Act.

Thank you for helping to keep me sane in an insane world. All... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Dumb And Dangerous (feat. Adam Klasfeld)
Q: Can you summarize why Halkbank became a focal point in US sanctions enforcement and what the deferred prosecution agreement changes?
The Halkbank case represented a massive, decade-long effort to enforce Iran sanctions through a Turkish state-run bank, and the deferred prosecution agreement is meant to unwind the indictment while imposing monitoring and potential penalties, though it raises questions about scope, fines, and proper procedure.
DOGE Bro Heist (feat. Sasha Abramsky)
Q: What does dismantling the civil service mean for crisis response and governance in the long term?
It erodes institutional memory, reduces expertise in key areas like health and diplomacy, and leads to ad hoc decision-making without robust checks and balances.
DOGE Bro Heist (feat. Sasha Abramsky)
Q: Can you talk a little bit about that briefly and connect it to the present day?
Abramsky explains that Doge was framed as an efficiency drive but functioned as a wrecking ball to civil service and soft power, setting the stage for problematic foreign policy decisions and weakened governance.
Odds And Ends (feat. John Fugelsang; Adam Klasfeld)
Q: What were the key takeaways from the vindictive and selective prosecution hearing in Nashville, and how do they affect Kilmar Briego-Garcia's case?
The guests explain that the hearing revealed the use of public accounts to smear defendants, the role of witnesses, and the risk that looming declarations and memos could influence the defense—highlighting how due process rights may be affected.
Odds And Ends (feat. John Fugelsang; Adam Klasfeld)
Q: Please welcome Adam Klasfeld. Hi, Adam. How are you?
Adam introduces his current coverage focus and provides an update on ongoing hearings and DOJ oversight, emphasizing the pace and importance of live court observations.
