  • I’m out

At first, I thought I’d finally found the woman-led news pod I could eat up daily. After a few months, I’ve gone from paid Patron to total quitter. The only time I hear actually feminist commentary on women’s issues, on behalf of women, is from a man on Fridays. Tired of the saturation of every single topic/story with dumb dubs (“Kegseth”) and pro-trans rhetoric at the expense of discussing the factual details on the ground and the people actually involved/impacted by events. Gay women want to h... more

  • July 24, 2026. THE PLANE

Please correct me if I’m wrong: the Plane was gifted to the US Dept of Defense. It was not designated how/ by whom it was to be used nor its ultimate destination. It was Heggers who stated it was to go to Trump; Heggers who decided that the DoD would pay for retrofitting; and it was he who said Trump will keep it post-presidency. The question should be: were Heggers’ decisions legal???? I and the country need clarification.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Donald Mails It In (feat. Julie F. Kay)
Q: What prompted you to found Reproductive Futures and how does your work look on the ground?
Julie Kay explains founding in response to Dobbs and Roe reversal, focusing on telemedicine abortion, emergency room care, and shield laws to protect providers and patients, with a legal framework to expand access.
New Deal Moment (feat. Heather Cox Richardson)
Q: How are you doing, Heather?
Heather describes being excited to discuss the project and share historical perspectives, while acknowledging the challenges of presenting history in a modern political context.
ICE Snatches Military Families (feat. Stephanie Mencimer)
Q: Can you talk a little bit about how that impacted the IRS and what you wrote about here in this piece?
Stephanie explains the staffing reductions, IT cuts, and managerial changes at the IRS, linking them to longer wait times, reduced taxpayer support, and a broader narrative of an agency under strain due to reforms and layoffs.
Refried Beans | Weird (feat. Ben Folds) | 8/08/2024
Q: Talk about why weird is such an effective message from your point of view.
Ben Folds explains that when a word carries economy and clarity, it can condense complex meanings into a single, actionable impression. The effectiveness hinges on honesty and shared cultural recognition; otherwise a bumper sticker becomes mere noise. He emphasizes that the word works because it resonates with people's observations and avoids over-explanation, letting the audience fill in the meaning.
The Breakdown | Trump DOJ makes Stunning Epstein Admission in Court
Q: What is the significance of the Epstein Files Transparency Act in how redactions are handled?
The act is intended to protect victims' identities and keep their personal information confidential, but the guests argue that the DOJ's broader redaction protocol, and the expanded victim definition, may undermine transparency and accountability if used to shield co-conspirators or other non-victim parties.
