  • Invaluable knowledge and conversations

I loved the conversation with Shania. Especially the discussion about how a person’s degrading fertility over time influences their decision to accept a life partner who may not be right for them. As a single person in my 30s, I know that fertility is on a lot of people’s minds. Proactive fertility preservation can maybe reduce anxiety amongst people searching for their life partner. But first, they would need to know where to start. This podcast!

EP85: You asked, we answered: Fertility Q&A - 2 years of My Fertility Podcast!
Q: What are your thoughts on AI in fertility care?
AI can support lab processes and initial patient triage but should not replace human judgment; there is concern about turning AI into an unnecessary, costly add-on without proven improvements in outcomes, and emphasis on data quality and demonstrable evidence to justify adoption.
EP85: You asked, we answered: Fertility Q&A - 2 years of My Fertility Podcast!
Q: How should fibroids be managed in relation to fertility goals?
The management depends on fibroid location and symptoms; submucosal fibroids inside the uterine cavity are more impactful and often removed before trying to conceive, while fibroids in the wall or outside may not affect fertility significantly and surgery may be unnecessary unless symptoms arise.
EP85: You asked, we answered: Fertility Q&A - 2 years of My Fertility Podcast!
Q: Egg freezing vs IVF: which option offers more future flexibility and why?
Egg freezing preserves the option to use a variety of future partners or donors, while embryos commit you to a specific partner's genetic material, reducing flexibility but potentially giving more immediate clarity about embryo viability.
EP84: Exploring endometriosis and endo ultrasounds with Dr. Leonardi
Q: What is the average wait time for endometriosis surgery in Ontario and why is it important to have the right surgeon?
Wait times can range from six months to over two years depending on the complexity of the case and specialties required, and having the right surgeon is crucial for effective treatment of endometriosis.
EP84: Exploring endometriosis and endo ultrasounds with Dr. Leonardi
Q: When patients ask about endometriosis and fertility, how do you explain the relationship?
Endometriosis is one of the most common diseases causing infertility, with high chances of affecting fertility even if treatments are provided.
